Other creative individuals value external factors very much - a beautiful area with a wonderful view, a spacious comfortable studio or office, peace and quiet. Architects from the American studio Blank Studio designed and built a suspended house just so that artists, writers and other representatives of creative professions could create in a secluded and very unusual place that inspires with its appearance alone.
The Writers' House is located in a picturesque areaSwitzerland. When it comes to alpine pastoral landscapes, such an unusual architectural structure standing on a green meadow is the last thing that comes to mind. However, the authors of the suspended house project created a house in a futuristic style with a strong influence of minimalism. The structure is located in a group of high columns reminiscent of a fantastic forest.
The residence has two buildings.The building, which sits on the ground, contains all the main rooms: the main entrance, kitchen, living room, dining room, bathroom and bedroom. The interior is heavily made of steel and metal, including perforated steel panels that let in light and allow residents to see the surrounding landscapes “through the wall.”
But the main highlight of the residence, of course,is a floating suspended house suspended by concrete roof cables between columns. This creates a feeling of weightlessness and airiness, which is further emphasized by the placement of windows and the use of frosted, transparent and translucent glass in the cladding.
Inside there is a contrast of natural, openwork light,White and black wood complement the perforated metal railings on the stairs leading to the writer's office. On the first level of the suspended house there is a small kitchen wall, a toilet, and bookcases. And on the second level is the holy of holies, a secluded quiet place where masterpieces of modern literature are written! All the windows here are frosted, which allows daylight to freely enter the room, but at the same time does not give the writer the opportunity to be distracted from work by the views from the window.
