Although the technique of applique from paper pictures was born almost 9 centuries ago in China, the term appeared only in the 20th century. Christmas ball of plastic.
Three-layer napkin with angels.
Primer.

You can take a Christmas ball of absolutely any color.Before you start decorating, you need to remove the fastener. Carefully coat the entire surface of the toy with primer and let it dry. Then we take white acrylic paint and apply it to the ball using a piece of foam rubber. In total we need 3 layers. They should be applied only after the previous one has completely dried.The surface of the ball should be smooth, so after the third layer of paint has dried, sand it with sandpaper.All dust generated during the processing must be removed; for this you can use the white layers of a napkin, from which we separate the top colored one. We cut out angels from it.Using decoupage glue, attach the fragments to the ball. First we glue the center of the picture, and then carefully smooth it to the edges.While the pictures are drying, use a piece of foam rubber to paintgold paint to fasten the ball. Now the golden part dries, and we continue to decorate the ball. The cotton thread must be cut into pieces approximately 10-13 cm in length (the final size of the pieces will depend on the size of your ball). It is necessary to wet these threads with water and then cover them with PVA glue. The easiest way to do this is with your fingers, but you can use a brush or another piece of foam.We lay out these threads in various curls on the surface of the ball where there is space free from pictures. We correct all irregularities with a thin flat brush dipped in water.These patterns dry quickly enough, so you can almost immediately paint them with glitter using adhesive glitter.Now you need to cover the entire ball with acrylic glossy varnish in two layers.We put the fastener back and tie a bow from golden organza.The result is such a charming ball with angels. Option 2Advice!It is absolutely not necessary to use new Christmas tree decorations for such crafts. Perhaps in a box on the far shelf in the pantry there are old toys whose sides are worn or the color has faded. Such balls can be given a new life by using them as a basis for crafts. You will need:

3D varnish.

We begin the work by cleaning the ball from any irregularities and excess paint. Simply sand with fine-grained sandpaper.We take out the fastening. The ball must be coated with a layer of primer. If you are afraid of getting your hands dirty, you can use a Chinese food stick as a holder.When the primer has dried, it is necessary to paint over itblank with white acrylic paint. You will need two layers, and apply the second only after the first has completely dried. While the second layer of paint dries, we layer the napkin. We tear out the angels from the top colored layer. In this master class we have selected images similar to Raphael’s angels.Glue the fragments with decoupage glue.We start gluing in the center and smooth out to the edges. The top needs to be covered with another layer of glue. Avoid any unevenness or wrinkles. If this happens, use a sponge.Now you need to mix gold and silveracrylic paints. Apply this mixture to the surface of the ball using foam rubber with light patting movements. You should get an unusual glow effect. Now we need to leave our ball for several hours to dry, for example, overnight.When everything is dry, take the golden outline and draw the angel’s curls. To make the curls look voluminous, we use a dotted 3D varnish.
