How to make an organizer for a sofa with your own hands
The sofa organizer is a very convenient thing, especially if you often combine watching TV and some handicrafts, or something like that. You can put a TV remote control, various magazines, bottles of water, used tools, sewing threads, etc. in it. In general, the scope of application is wide and can be limited only by your imagination. You can buy a ready-made sofa organizer in a store (in the same Ikea). On sale you can find simple options (as in the photo above) and more functional ones with a rigid stand. The latter take up a little more space, but at the same time are more convenient, although a little more expensive.
You can make a sofa organizer yourself, adapting it to your needs. There are many options for how to do this, but in general, most of them come down to the banal sewing of a bag with 3-4 compartments.
But there are also more original ideas, the most interesting of which we will consider below. 1. Organizer from slippers and a rug.
To make it you will need house slippers (you can buy the cheapest ones), a wooden mat for hot dishes (you can use a bamboo mat for sushi), and thread and a needle.
The slippers are sewn onto the edge of the rug, after which the finished organizer is placed on the armrest of the sofa and secured.
If there is a large gap between the armrest and the seatgap, then you will have to come up with some other fastening. But it is not difficult. You can use rivets, buttons or simply equip the opposite side of the rug with a counterweight, then the organizer will hold well even without fastening to the armrest. 2. Organizer for a wooden sofa.
The cabinet organizer has its advantages anddisadvantages. On the one hand, it is more functional, since you can put cups of tea, glasses of beer, etc. on it. On the other hand, the armrest loses its direct purpose, because you can no longer put your hand on it, and you can’t use it as a pillow. But it’s not all that bad, because it can be easily and quickly removed if necessary. For manufacturing, you will need thin boards or other wood material (MDF, for example).
