But only a costume created with your own hands will become a real sensation at the holiday. We offer you to sew a Christmas tree costume yourself, involving your child in needlework. At the New Year's party, parents often dress their children in a Christmas tree costume, therefore, in order to create a unique costume for a child, let's consider the step-by-step process of work. After all, we offer to sew a costume using holiday lights.
Materials needed for the fabric part:• Green cloth several meters long (in our case, we are making it from velveteen);• Sewing machine;• Glue gun;• Decoration parts. Materials needed for the part where we use electricity:• Wire;• Illuminated wires;• Thick thread;• Finger batteries;• Blowtorch. Costume making process: 1. Taking into account the baby’s measured dimensions, we make a pattern. Then we transfer it onto the fabric and cut out all the elements. To protect the child from the wires that we use to create the costume, we need to sew a lining. We sew it completely, leaving only the shoulder unsewn so that the lining can be put on. Sew the main dress only on one side.
2.Place the costume base on a flat surface and mark the contours where the wires with illumination will go with a pencil or soap. It is better to place the wires diagonally, so the costume will look interesting and quite realistic, like a Christmas tree. For those people who do not understand electricity, we note that the short legs of the wires must look in one direction, and the long ones in the opposite direction, and they are attached to the positive sign on the batteries.
3.Using a wire with a large number of threads, connect the LED wires and attach them carefully, avoiding putting too much pressure on the wires. After attaching the wires, stitch the rest of the dress together. Then attach the finger batteries to the edge of the bottom of the dress and connect the wires to them, remembering that the long legs are to the positive sign, the short ones are to the negative. Cut the wires and grease the ends with glue, protecting both the contacts and the baby's legs from injury.
4. Sew on the rest.The final stage is to decorate the costume. You can decorate it with sequins, ribbons, bows, basically, anything you like. You can run a wire along the bottom of the dress so that it holds its shape.The costume is sewn and your child will not go unnoticed!
