- Green polymer clay;
- A little liquid polymer clay;
- Light green acrylic paint;
- Varnish (glossy and 3-D glaze);
- Hairpin for brooch;
- Stationery knife;
- Stack with a ball;
- Mold cherry leaves;
- Toothpicks.
Before you start working with clay, you need toknead thoroughly. It is better to work with gloves on a smooth and even surface (glass or ceramic tile). Polymer clay is very sensitive to marks and debris. So, the first stage – We form their plastics into 4 drop-shaped blanks 1 cm in length. Now we make a groove on the thick end of each droplet using a toothpick. Press in the center, the convex parts should be equal (see photo).Place the workpieces on a flat surface andcut them in half according to the groove we made earlier. Now we unfold the halves with the convex side facing the face and move them tightly. It turns out to be a kind of heart. Gently flatten the heart. Now we have a flat piece. We make 3 more such blanks. Now we need to make veins on our hearts. The most convenient and fastest way – roll a cherry leaf over the mold. If you don't have the required shape on hand, simply press the veins with the tip of a knife.
Now you need to take each heart and stack it withroll the balls so that the front side is convex (see photo). We deal only with the sides and do not touch the center. From a small piece of clay we make a base cake on which we will attach the leaves and attach a 2.5 cm long petiole to it. We take a pin and attach our flat cake with the petiole to it with the smooth side. Apply a little liquid polymer clay and glue the leaves. Carefully work the edges of the joints with a toothpick. There should be no cracks or gaps.
We send it to bake in the oven strictly ataccording to the instructions on the clay package. After the workpiece has cooled, paint stripes with acrylic paint and cover it with glossy varnish. The final touch will be a few drops of 3-D varnish to simulate dew.
Our brooch that brings good luck is ready.
