We all know the answer to the question:such a hood. This is a cross between a Snood scarf and a bonnet. This master class is devoted to the question of how to knit a hood with knitting needles. Experienced needlewomen are familiar with different techniques for making a hood with knitting needles. Knitting methods depend on what type a particular model belongs to. It may be part
, but it is often knitted separately. In this case, the knitted model may look like a hooded scarf. In any case, a knitted hood is an excellent alternative to a warm and comfortable hat. The choice of model determines the formation of style and giving individuality to the image. There are a large number of knitting models known, for example the classic version. In addition to it, there are accessories that combine a hood with a collar and a scarf.
Knitting a classic hood
The first master class allows us to consider the simplest model for beginners, which is called “Classical”.
It is suitable for both children and adults. You will learn how to knit a hood of this model and you will be able to make it yourself. We usually knit this pattern to complement sweaters or blouses. The pattern of the model is a regular rectangle. The pattern diagram is simply knit stitches in all rows, that is, garter stitch. Despite its simplicity, the product turns out to be quite stylish and warm. The size of the rectangle is determined in accordance with the measurements of the head circumference. For a two-year-old child, you will need one hundred grams of dark-colored yarn and number four knitting needles. We collect all the loops along the neck of the product, or separately from it. In our case, this is one hundred and twenty units. After this, we knit sixty rows without adding or decreasing stitches, that is, in a straight line. After this, carefully close the loops of the last row. If the set was made separately from the neck, then the hood must be sewn to it, and then the rectangle must be sewn with a “Loop to Loop” seam. This completes the first master class, and the classic hood with knitting needles is ready.
Hood in heel technique
Often in knitted products it is carried outa type of hood, shaped like a heel, as shown in the next master class. The same technique is used here as when knitting the heel of a sock.
This model is especially common inyouth vests and jackets, and creates a unique youth style. We knit it for our little children and also for teenagers. First we knit a rectangle shape to measure.
After this, we will make a set of loops along the edge of the canvas.
Next, knitting is carried out to the required length, while we knit the bottom of the fabric in shortened rows, and sew the hood to the neck.
Hood-collar with knitting needles
Another master class will teach you how to knit a collar with your knitting needles. We will consider the simplest method of manufacturing it.
To begin with, we knit the back of the product, as well as the shelves, after which we sew everything together. At the same time, the neck loops remain open.
We cast on the neck loops onto the knitting needle, starting frompoints A on the diagram. We start knitting from the side of the front rows, and perform one row with front loops. After this, we transfer all the loops to the second knitting needle without knitting. Now we knit with the main pattern, adding loops in the area where the pattern has plus signs, that is, in the center or along the edges. Let's make thirty-five centimeters using this technique, after which we place the loops on an additional thread. Now all that remains is to tie the edges and sew them.

How to tie a scarf-hood
A very interesting option for knitting is a scarf combined with a hood.
This accessory is extremely impressive and stylish, and at the same time practical and convenient. It can be a great addition to things like coats, jackets or fur coats. To work you will need two hundred grams of yarn and number four knitting needles. To knit a hood scarf, we need a drawing or diagram, and we have it in our lesson. You will see it in the photo below.
To knit such an accessory with knitting needles, it is betterjust resort to the separate formation of the geometric shapes that you see in the pattern diagram. First we knit the top rectangle, picking up the bottom loops to get a size of forty-two centimeters (cm). We knit it with the chosen pattern, making braids along the edges, to a height of twenty-one centimeters. After this, you can continue knitting the entire fabric to a height of six cm. But there is an option to knit according to the pattern, forming two separate halves to a height of six cm. Next, we close all the loops and proceed to knitting the lower rectangle with a length of one hundred forty and a height of twenty-seven centimeters. Let's calculate the loops according to the sample, and cast on such a number of loops to get a fabric eighteen cm wide. Now we begin to knit a scarf with the selected pattern for a length of one hundred and forty centimeters so that it can be wrapped around the neck. Sew the hood at the back and sew it to the scarf.
Hat hood with knitting needles
This video master class talks aboutHow to knit a pattern called a hood hat. For needlework you will need number three knitting needles, as well as two types of yarn, regular and mohair. We will determine the knitting density based on the sample and take the necessary measurements. The main measurement is taken from the bottom of the chin to the top of the forehead, as done in the video. We take the next measurement from the crown to the forehead. In this case, both measurements coincided and amounted to seventeen cm. The neckline was four cm, and the shoulder line was ten cm. Such measurements correspond to the age of a child from three to four years. Cast on fifty loops (P) and knit four cm in garter stitch. Then follows a row of 1x1 elastic, after which we will begin to perform an English elastic to the height of the hood cap, that is, to the top of the head. Then we begin to close P as shown in the video. At the same time, we connect the cap at the back, and from the edge loops of its bottom we collect new P for the neck. Using these cast-on stitches the neckline is knitted with a 1x1 rib. Loops for the fastener strap are made along its edges. Having finished the neckline, we immediately continue knitting the lower part of the hood cap, that is, the shirtfront. It is made in the same pattern as the upper part of the product. Having knitted four rows of the shirtfront with English elastic, we will begin to add loops to widen the shirtfront, then the hood will be a little loose. Having finished knitting the shirt front, close all the loops very loosely so that the edge of the product is not tight. The hooded hat is ready.
