How to update an old bank in the technique of decoupage? Detailed description of the technique with photos

While our grandson is growing up, we often use baby foodfood, after which there are jars. In order not to throw them away as household waste, I took up the creative process and learned to turn them into exclusive things using decoupage technique. In this master class, I will tell you how to turn an unnecessary tin can into a storage for pens, pencils or household trifles. The idea will surely appeal to many, and you will burn to make such interior dishes for yourself, your friends and including children. Moreover, napkins with children's drawings are available in every home where a baby is growing up.

Materials and tools

For decoupage I needed:

  • Bank of the baby food of any size.
  • Alcoholic napkin.
  • Sandpaper.
  • White and colored acrylic paints.
  • Brushes.
  • Glue (PVA "Optilux").
  • Pulverizer with water, file.
  • Sponge foam rubber and clamp.
  • Copy paper.
  • Paper napkins.
  • Relief paste, palette knife or spatula for paste application.
  • Acrylic lacquer.

workflow

First, I sanded the metal surface thoroughly to make it as smooth as possible, suitable for decoupage work.Photos for the lesson on decoupage banks. Photo # 2Now you need to prime the whole thing with white paintsurface with a thin layer to begin with, dried and painted again for a more even and dense layer. It is necessary that the dishes acquire a uniform color. The inscription on the purpose of the can does not shine through. If a painted base remains, the work will be unaesthetic.Photos for the lesson on decoupage banks. Picture №3 Photos for the lesson on decoupage banks. Photo №4As soon as the paint dried, I started preparing.napkins. I separated the layers of the napkin from each other, since a napkin with a pattern is usually triple. I put the layer with the pattern on the file with the back side and moistened it with water.Photos for the lesson on decoupage banks. Photo №5Along with the file, I placed a piece of napkin with the picture I liked on it onto the surface of the jar and pressed it firmly so that the picture would be transferred to the metal surface of the dish.Photos for the lesson on decoupage banks. Photo №6As soon as the napkin was tightly attached to the surface, I removed the file almost parallel to the can. This action must be done very carefully so as not to pull the delicate sheet of thin napkin.Photos for the lesson on decoupage banks. Photo №7I coated the entire surface with glue and let it dry well.Photos for the lesson on decoupage banks. Photo №8I secured the fragment with varnish, that is, I applied a layerof this substance. The varnish is applied thinly and evenly. It is necessary to wait some time for it to evaporate from the surface. I took it out to the sun in a warm place and dried it well again.Photos for the lesson on decoupage banks. Photo Number 9I decided to give volume to the remaining fragments. To do this, I first transferred the drawing to the surface using carbon paper with a stick.Photos for the lesson on decoupage banks. Picture №10 Photos for the lesson on decoupage banks. Photo Number 11I applied relief paste to the outlined drawing.Photos for the lesson on decoupage banks. Photo number 12 Photos for the lesson on decoupage banks. I glued the fragment of the drawing that I had outlined earlier onto the three-dimensional surface made of relief paste. This resulted in an interesting convex, even relief, element.Photos for the lesson on decoupage banks. After 2-3 hours, the exclusive jar for storing things is ready to please your household.Photos for the lesson on decoupage banks. Photo number 17 Photos for the lesson on decoupage banks.
