Moreover, the feeders described below will serve as additional decor for the winter garden. These instructions are quite simple to implement, so you can safely involve your children in the work. Using a plastic bottle to make a feeder There are many variations in the creation of feeders. More complex ones involve the use of wood to create houses. To make the lightest bird feeder, you may only need a paper milk carton. You can also make an easy-to-make feeder from a plastic bottle and several wooden spoons. You will not need that many materials. Prepare a plastic bottle, two spoons with fairly long handles, food for filling, scissors, strong threads and some kind of metal hook.First, make two through holes, the handles of the spoons should go through them. In this version, the spoons have several functions at once:
- Firstly, they will serve as a place where the bird can sit down to eat;
- secondly, the seeds will pour out into the spoon in small portions.
Next, fill the bottle with different foods: seeds, nuts, grain, bread crumbs, etc. After that, hang the feeder on a tree by making a hole in the lid and threading a hook through it.
Using Gelatin to Make a FeederThis version of the feeder can be made from cereals and gelatin. Dissolve it in warm water, pour the feed into the mixture, mix them well and arrange them in the molds. Do not forget to put a hook made of thread inside, it will be used to attach the feeder to the branch later. Now place the prepared molds with food in the refrigerator and wait for them to harden completely. If you forgot to dip the thread into the mixture - no problem. After the gelatin has completely hardened, make a small hole in the feeder and thread the thread through it.If you can't find a suitable form at home - that's not a problem. You can fill old mugs or tins with a mixture of gelatin and food and hang them on the trees.Garland Feeder To make this happenidea into life, just string crackers, dried fruits, nuts, etc. on a fishing line or wire. The food set will completely depend on your budget and imagination. If you have the opportunity, buy ready-made cereal breakfasts, string them on a wire, bending them into a certain shape (heart, star, circle, etc.), and your feeder is ready. Ice feeder Main requirementexistence of such a feeder - this is the presence of a temperature with a minus mark. If your city is famous for frosty winters, this option will be an interesting decoration for your winter garden. To do this, you will need a plastic bottle (its bottom), a well-sharpened knife, coniferous branches and berries for decoration, food and water. The bottom of a plastic bottle will serve as the basis for our feeder, so feel free to cut off the excess. Choose the volume of the bottle yourself, in this example, a bottle with a volume of 5 liters was used, but you can use a smaller bottle. It will be much easier to fix it on the branches. Place coniferous branches and berries on the bottom in a circle, leave an empty space in the middle, this is where the food will be poured in the future.A smaller container should be placed in the center of the base,it will help us create a ring-shaped feeder. Put a small weight in the central container so that it does not rise, and fill the space in a circle with water. Think about fastenings in advance. The easiest option is to dip the ends of a strong rope into water. They will harden and will be able to support the weight of the feeder.Place the feeder in the freezer overnight. In the morning, take it out of the refrigerator, remove all the plastic containers and your feeder is ready.
