Step-by-step master class on creating a decoupage for candles for the New Year.
Candle decoupage is probably one of the mostinteresting processes of pre-New Year preparations. It is not complicated in technology. It's done quickly in terms of time. The creative process itself is very exciting. But there are some tricks. You cannot glue a napkin onto a candle using decoupage glue or simple PVA glue; there are special tools for this. But you need to know which ones and buy them. Are there hot ways to decoupage a candle – using a hairdryer or a spoon heated on a candle. I prefer to work with a spoon, and in this master class I want to share how to do it.To decoupage the candle I took:
- wide in diameter candle, sold in the IKEA store,
- New Year's paper napkins three-layer,
- scissors,
- lighter,
- a small candle and a stand for it,
- a tablespoon.
To begin with, I decided on the drawings thatI will implant it. It would have been possible to take a fragment that would completely envelop the candle, but I wanted to make a collage. For the lower part along the entire diameter of the candle, I took a fragment with spruce legs, and for the upper part – drawings with Santa Claus.I peeled off the top layer of the napkins. She lit a candle and heated the inside of the spoon. Then using the outside of the spoon in a circular motion with slight pressure, I implanted the design into the candle. The paraffin melted and penetrated through a thin napkin.I implanted the remaining fragments in the upper part of the candle in the same way.I added snowflakes in between the pictures with Santa Clauses.During the work I realized that I wanted to add morecolored dots along the edge of the candle. To do this, I took metallic acrylic paints and a thin stick (can be replaced with contours). I decorated the top part of the candle around the wick with dots. I also added colored dots around the rest of the fragments. The candle turned out beautiful and festive. But a candle remains a candle and at the same time a flammable one, don’t forget about it. When you use it, do not forget about fire safety. Good luck to you!
