Information on how to sew a fabric bag with your own hands
How to choose the right bag for the summer season?I would like to quickly throw away unnecessary and dark accessories. The coming summer will be in fashion light color! It is not difficult to create a bag for the summer with your own hands. You will be able to choose the material you like and cut out the bag to your taste. It will take about an hour for this. You will need for a summer bag:- light-colored material (in this case, we used colorful fabric); - rings (in this case, beige handles were used); - pins; - a sewing machine. So, let's get started! Sewing a summer bag The handles we used are similar to embroidery hoops and have a diameter of 150 mm. Cut out the amount of material we need from the material. Calculate seam allowances. Cut off a similar piece for the second half of the bag and 2 small pieces of fabric in a different color.
Gradually pin the front side of the tartan material to the front half of the turquoise material. Then do the same for the other half of the bag.
The bottom corners of the bag should be slightlyrounded, which is why we recommend that you look around your apartment to find something that can help you cut the material into a semicircle, for example, you can use jar lids. Take the lid you need, select it and cut out 1 of the corners.
When you are worried about whether the second corner willreally match the other, then join the fabric and cut the other corner, comparing it to the first. This option works. Then it's time for the sewing machine. Mix the outer half and the lining of the bag into one.
Turn your material inside out. Now the front half of our bag is actually the front half.
Select the top half of the bag and unfold it from two halves. Then sew it. The top of the bag has acquired a neat edge.
Do the same with the other half of yourbags. Connect the material with the upper sides and fold it over about 50 mm. Make marks with pins where your turns will appear. Connect the upper sides into one, starting with the first pin. Sew properly, without rushing. We choose a strong and thick enough thread for stitching so that the handles are attached well. To do this, wrap the upper part of your bag around the handle and re-sew from 1 end.
If the thread runs out, start from the second edge. This handle looks very impressive on a summer fabric bag! Then just repeat this step with the second handle!
So, our bag is ready! At the end, you can decorate it - for example, with a flower made of the same fabric or ribbons, you can also decorate the bag with a keychain or a massive brooch.
