Instructions and photos for constructing women's coats onThe poncho model example that we offer in this article will be an excellent solution for beginner dressmakers. Models of these products are still fashionable and relevant today. They are suitable for any figure. A coat of this style is sewn very quickly, since the pattern is extremely simple. Every woman can easily cope with its construction. A coat is a rather complex item of clothing. Its cut and sewing sometimes causes difficulties even for experienced dressmakers. There are many nuances that can complicate the work process. Among the huge number of styles and models of women's coats, one can single out one that is distinguished by the simplicity of cut and sewing - this is a poncho or cape. The simplicity of the design and ease of cutting lies in the fact that the product does not need to be adjusted to the figure. As a rule, ordinary fabrics from which coats are sewn are used for such products. They have one, quite serious, requirement - drapery.Instruction and photo on the construction of women's coats on the example of the poncho model. Photo №1To work on the pattern and sewing you need to prepare:

  • chalk or a piece of soap;
  • a fabric that should be of good density, two-sided and woolen, the length of the piece of fabric should be equal to its width (one and a half to one and a half meters or forty meters to forty meters);
  • tape centimeter or ruler, which has a good length.

Instructions for use The basis of the model iscircle. We need to fold the fabric in half along the grain line. We mark the center necessarily along the fold of the material. Now we measure the distance from the center point to the cut of the material (you can do it easier - take and divide the segment in half). We found out the radius of the required circle. Using the ruler or tape measure prepared earlier, from the point in the center we need to put aside the previously obtained value in different directions of the folded material, and then mark additional points. It is along these auxiliary points that it will be very easy for us to build a semicircle - the basis of the product. We just need to connect all the points with one smooth line. Now we cut out the material along the line and unfold it to get one layer. Where there was a fold, we need to draw a straight line directly along it. Through the center of this line we draw a second straight line, which will be perpendicular to the previous one. At the bottom of the resulting figure we will draw two not very large segments, the length of each of them should be thirty centimeters. They should be placed at a distance of twenty centimeters from the straight line. It is at this distance that we need to draw perpendicular segments down. These will be the armholes. How it all looks in reality, we can see in the picture.Instruction and photo on the construction of women's coats on the example of the poncho model. Photo # 2The distance between one and the second sleeve iswill be forty centimeters. If you want your clothes to be more spacious or you need a larger size, then slightly increase the distance between the sleeves, make it fifty centimeters or more. The sleeves are cut out as simply as the coat itself. They are rectangles. The width of each rectangle is sixty centimeters (do not forget about the additional one and a half centimeters on both sides, necessary as seam allowances). The length of these rectangles will be approximately fifty-five centimeters (calculated by measuring the distance from the wrist to the middle line of the back, the arm must be taken to the side, minus one half of the distance from one armhole to the second). In the event that you want the sleeves to have a lapel, then the rectangles need to be made somewhat longer, taking into account the width of this lapel. If desired, you can narrow the lower part of the sleeves a little.Instruction and photo on the construction of women's coats on the example of the poncho model.
