Sewing clothes for MonsterHigh dolls with your own handsFashionable dolls with bright makeup and unusual appearance, Monster High, are very popular among girls. Despite their modernity, these dolls, as before, require clothes. If you want to please your daughter, sew a dress for Monster High with your own hands. It is quite easy to do this, using this master class. It offers a sample dress designed for dolls like Twila or Howleen.Before starting work, stock up on the following materials:
- A needle;
- a tetrad sheet in a box;
- thin satin ribbon;
- piece of cotton fabric;
- Velcro;
- thread of the same color as the fabric.
Let's start the process of sewing a dress for the School dollsMonsters. First of all, we make a pattern of the future wardrobe item on a notebook sheet. Then we cut out a template from paper. Using it, we cut out two pieces of the future sleeves from fabric, a front piece, and two pieces of the back (mirror-image relative to each other), taking into account seam allowances of about 4 millimeters. Now we will start cutting out three pieces of the dress hem: the first is 3.5x11 centimeters; the second is 3.5x15 centimeters; the third is 3.5x19 centimeters. Please note that the above dimensions are given taking into account the seam allowance.
We begin to sew the details of the front and back of the dressshoulder seams. Bend and hem the two sleeve pieces. Bend and hem the end of the third piece as well, then gather its top to a length of about 15 centimeters and sew it to the second piece. Next, sew the area where the second and third pieces meet from the front side, remembering to step back about 2 millimeters from the seam. After that, start sewing the sides of the bodice pieces and the sleeves of the dress. In order to prevent possible fraying of the fabric, all the pieces of the future dress, without exception, should be overcast.
Having gathered the top of the second part of the hem tosize 11 centimeters, we sew it with the first part. Having made an indent upwards from the seam somewhere by a millimeter, from the side of the face the area of the junction of the first and second parts of the hem is carefully sewn. Now we gather the upper edge of the first part and sew it to the bodice of the dress. In the manner described above, we sew the area of joining the first part of the hem with the bodice, not forgetting to make an indent from the seam of 2 millimeters. Having turned up the edges, we sew the Velcro to the back of the bodice. Then we hem the first part of the hem, having previously folded the edges. The remaining unfolded edges of the hem are sewn together. As a final chord, we tie a small bow from the satin ribbon and sew it to the dress. If you correctly and diligently followed all our recommendations, then you will certainly be able to please your daughter with a wonderful dress for the Monster High doll.
