To crochet a zebra you will need: 75% cotton knitting yarn. 25% polyamide: approx. 200 m/50 g - 50 g each of white, black and khaki; crochet hook N 1.75: synthetic wadding: 2 white shank buttons with a diameter of 1 cm; black waterproof marker: brush; tissue paper. Crochet description: See model. Please note the following differences: Head and body: knit like the head and body of the knitted hippopotamus model, but in stripes, for which knit alternately 2 rows of black and 2 rows of white thread. To change the thread color in the 2nd black row, knit the last sc with white thread, and then continue knitting with white thread. Change the white color to black in exactly the same way. Knitted toy face: knit in the same way as the model, but knit with khaki yarn from the 1st to the 9th row, and knit in black and white stripes up to the 15th row. Finish the work after the 15th row, leaving a long end of the thread free for sewing on the face. Ears: knit 4 ch with white thread and close the chain into a ring • s/st. 1 row: knit 6 sc in a circle. 2 row: knit 2 sc in each sc. 5 row: knit 2 sc in each 4th sc. 6-9 rows: add 1 sc over each increase of the previous row (= 27 sc). After the 16th row, fold the ear in half and tie both halves of the ear with one row of sc. Finish the work, leaving a long end of the thread free for sewing on the ear. Knit the second ear in exactly the same way. Legs: see model , but knit with khaki yarn from the 1st to the 10th rows, and then continue working with black and white threads (see photo). Nostrils: knit with black yarn - see model . Assembling the zebra with a crochet hook: for the tail, make a small tassel (from about 30 pieces of black yarn, 20 cm long). Wrap the upper end of the tail tightly with black yarn to a width of 2 cm, tie the ends of the thread and sew the tail to the back of the body above the step. Stuff the muzzle with synthetic cotton wool and sew it to the head from the front between the 8th and 25th rows from the top. Fold each ear in half and sew it to the top of the head from the side between the 7th and 8th rows. Sew on the legs - see model. Sew the nostrils to the muzzle between the 1st and 5th rows at 1 cm intervals. Embroider the muzzle with black yarn using a stem stitch: start embroidering 4 rows below the center point of the muzzle, sew down vertically over 2 rows, then sew sideways in an arc over 3 rows in an upward direction. Make the last stitch twice. Embroider the second arc symmetrically in the same way. For the mane, place about 120 pieces of black yarn 5 cm long next to each other, machine stitch along the center line with a short stitch, placing it on top and placing it underneath the mane along a strip of tissue. Sew the mane to the head between the crown and the back of the head. Draw pupils on the white buttons with a black felt-tip pen. Sew the eyes to the head at the seam of the muzzle at 0.5 cm intervals.
