Knitting French gum according to the scheme with a detailed description
Content
There is no doubt that some of the mostThe most popular knitting patterns are elastic bands. There are many types of elastic bands, but they all have some common qualities that unite them into one large group. The pattern of any elastic band with knitting needles consists of a combination of loops that form an elastic fabric. Each product knitted with such a relief is voluminous, elastic and extremely effective. Usually, knitting of sports sweaters, hats and scarves is done this way, as well as the outer zone in clothing, such as the lower zone, cuffs or collars. This pattern has a large number of techniques with different appearances and names. Each of them is knitted according to its own, unique to it, pattern. One of the main rules for knitting any elastic relief is choosing the right size of knitting needles.
The diameter of the knitting needles should be equal to the diameter of the thread,or maximum one and a half times more. In this case, the product is neat. For the production of different types of clothing, such names as 1x1 and 2x2 are most often used. In addition, very popular
, double (Italian), as well as Polish and French elastic with knitting needles. It is the French elastic that will be discussed in this lesson.
Technics 1x1
But in order to better master the knitting techniqueand the French elastic pattern, first let's pay attention to the usual simple technique. Below you see a picture of this technique, called 1x1. Here the first number symbolizes the front loops, and the second one the back loops. Then the meaning of the digital designations 2x2, or 1x2 becomes clear.
This elastic knitting pattern has the mostprimitive scheme, and is performed by alternately combining front loops (LP) and back loops (IP). Regardless of which of these schemes you choose, the fabric will be elastic and flexible. Therefore, even this simple scheme with a combination of front and back loops (P) can be successfully used to form tight-fitting items. The most important thing in this matter is to observe the proportions of the combination of two types of P. If the proportions are violated, the elasticity of the fabric will suffer. This can be a turtleneck sweater, or the outer details of clothing. All other methods are based on this simple scheme.
Technics 2x2
The French rubber band is made with spokes by alternating the same P as the one we considered earlier, but it looks absolutely different.
The shape of the French elastic band resemblescorrugated, knitted with a combination of front and back P, but in a different sequence. If at first two LP and two IP are knitted alternately, then in the next row (R) the rapport must be shifted. This is the diagram necessary for work. This is how the corrugated surface of the French elastic is obtained. It is necessary to remember that the French elastic is knitted exclusively with the classic technique. Starting to knit such a pattern with knitting needles, dial a number of units that is a multiple of four. Here you also need to add two edge loops. Having dialed the necessary loops, we knit the first R, alternating two LP and two IP. In the next second R, the pattern is shifted according to the diagram, so we first knit IP, then two LP, and the last IP in the rapport. Only after this should you repeat the French elastic from the very beginning. The pattern diagram is in the lesson.
Here, an empty cell means a front loop in a front row, or a back loop in a back row. A cell with a circle inside means a back loop in a front row, or a back loop in a back row.
Different ways
We invite you to consider another original oneknitting method of French rib. We cast on a number of loops, a multiple of three, plus edge loops and one P for symmetry. The first and all odd P are performed in the following sequence:
- The first is purplish;
- The second P is removed, and transferred to the right spoke;
- The third P knits the front of the back;
- Previously removed P again transferred to the working left spoke, and also execute it behind the back wall, as LP;
- The last edge fits like an FE.
And now we will consider knitting of the second and all even P of the given technique on performance of the French rubber band:
- The first loop is knit like an LP;
- The second is transferred without binding;
- The third knitting of the purl P;
- Previously removed by P we transfer back, and we knit it as PI;
- The last P must be facial.
Video lessons on knitting French gum
This video gives a detailed description of howThe formation of French gum is in progress. The video uses the same technique as in one of the previous options described in this lesson. In the first line after the edge П it is necessary to make two LPs. In this case they are performed in a special way. The first one is the one that is behind, and only then the front one. In this case, both loops are not removed from the spoke. After this, we knit two purlins II, and repeat all the way to the end of R. We turn the cloth, and form the second P, the latter in the rapport. The first edge P is removed, and then we perform the following two LPs. After these two IPs are located, which are knitted according to the same technique as the front one in the previous one. The first one is the distant one, and the second is the short loop. In the future, we need to repeat the first and second P alternately in order to get a beautiful French gum. So, we have examined all the existing options for making such a pattern, like a French rubber band, and the master class has come to an end. Using the information obtained in it, you will be able to form magnificent canvases using this particular relief.
