The world's largest hanging basket for flowers
Rising 7 meters above the ground, the flowerThe 6 x 3 metre basket, known as the Paddington Hanging Gardens, contains over 100 different varieties of plants and flowers, including orchids, roses, ivy, daisies, gerberas, ferns, conifers and moss.
The hanging basket weighs over a quarter of a ton!It took a team of designers, engineers and gardeners over three weeks to create it and about eight hours to hang it from the Hotel Indigo in London's Paddington. In fact, all this beauty was timed to coincide with the grand opening of the new hotel. What a great advertisement!
Hotel Indigo plans to change plants independing on the season. Karin Nielsen, a representative of the hotel, commented on the creation of the hanging basket: Our hotel emphasizes unique design, bold color schemes and seasonal changes, so the largest hanging basket for plants was the perfect way to make a statement to the world! We found inspiration in the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and we really hope that our hanging garden will become a wonder of London!
