New Year holidays are approaching. What kind of celebration would it be without a masquerade? If your child wants an original costume, you should meet him halfway and make, for example, a vegetable costume. You probably won’t find such clothes in the store. The proposed option will reveal step by step how to make a cabbage costume with your own hands.Children's holiday. The cabbage costume with your own hands. Photo №1Choice of fabric The cabbage theme is solved in various waystons of green. Tulle is perfect for the skirt of such a costume - the fabric for ballet tutus. Satin or cream satin in green tones will suit the T-shirt, the elastic band for the skirt and the hat.Tutu skirt For a tutu skirt you will need 120-150 cm of greenish tulle. It is cut into 6 identical strips 15-20 cm wide. For three tiers of the skirt you should need two strips sewn together. Как обработать внешний край яруса?This can be a hem, overcasting, bias binding. Considering that the suit will not be subject to constant washing and everyday wear, the edge of the tulle can be left untreated. First, the most ordinary straight skirt "Tatyanka" is sewn. Its length is not less than 20 cm. Three tiers of lush cabbage are located on the skirt. The distances between the tiers of the skirt should be 4 cm.The skirt should be decorated from the bottom edge, laying it outstripes numerous counter folds. To add splendor to the cabbage skirt, the deepest folds are laid. It is advisable to use all the material of the prepared cut strips of tulle. To achieve successful and higher-quality work, it is advisable to pre-mark and baste the folds. The "Tatyanka" skirt is folded at the top. An elastic band is pulled through the hem. Since tulle is very delicate, a satin ribbon can be sewn directly for the elastic band, along which the elastic band will slide better. The ribbon itself will give the skirt a finished look.Tank top The tank top is sewn in the style of a top with straps. If mom or grandma has enough time, skill, elastic bands and patience, then the T-shirt can be completely decorated with transversely pulled elastic bands. If any difficulties arise, then they can be pulled through the upper and lower parts of the T-shirt into the folded edges. Cabbage is cabbage, but the T-shirt should look harmonious on the girl, so you need to correctly calculate the T-shirt pattern. The fabric for it will take 1.9 - 2 times more than the chest circumference. So, if the child's chest circumference is 70 cm, then the width of the strip on the T-shirt should be no more than 70 x 2 (for the T-shirt) + 2 (for the seam) = 142 cm. It is advisable to sew straps on top of the blouse, in case the elastic bands are too wide, the straps will not allow the T-shirt to slip off, exposing the chest of the festive cabbage. They can be made from bias tape or T-shirt fabric. Cabbage hat First, you need to measure the circumference of the child's head, for example, 52 cm. Now, using your knowledge of school geometry, calculate the radius of the hat: 52 = 2 x 3.14 / radius / = 8.3 cm. The bottom of the round hat will have a radius of 8.3 cm. Then make a hat pattern. Draw a circle of the desired diameter, taking into account the seam allowance - the bottom of the hat. The height of the hat is a rectangle 52 cm (head circumference) + 2 (for the seam) x 5-6 cm (height of the hat). It remains to draw the brim of the hat. Draw a second circle around the bottom so that the brim is 10-12 cm. So, you get a "donut" with a width of 10-12 cm. The pattern is ready! The same pattern is used to cut out the synthetic padding and interlining to give it shape and softness. You can tie a ribbon on the finished hat for beauty. If there is fabric left over from the skirt and hat, you can cut out individual cabbage leaves, process the edges, and decorate the hat and skirt with them. So, the DIY cabbage costume is ready! It will be suitable for New Year's holidays, a harvest party, or any performance. Happy holidays!
