- canvas (almost any fabric for embroidering with ordinary or large cells is suitable);
- thread (it is best to use a mulina, but you can also take woolen, the main thing is that they are not later shed in the process of washing);

Eight to ten shades of thread are required to embroider the drawings. Depends on the scheme that the young embroiderer liked best. Remember that the density of the thread should match the size of the canvas cells. If the cells are small, then you can sew in one thread. In case the cells are large enough, the thread must be folded into two, three and so on addition. Then the picture will turn out beautiful and the fabric itself and the holes in it will not be visible through the embroidery. When starting to work, carefully watch that all the stitches (crosses) are embroidered strictly in one direction. This is a prerequisite when drawing a picture on the canvas with a cross stitch technique. Even a beginner needlewoman should understand that knots should not be formed during work. The thread must be carefully secured from the underside of the product with a few simple stitches. After the pattern is embroidered, it must be washed in cool water and ironed from the back of the embroidery. After the done manipulations, we make out the embroidery in a frame, which you can make yourself or buy in the store already ready and the picture is ready.
