3. Using a metal stack, apply the plastic to the foil blank, carefully smoothing it over the entire surface.
4. Now attach the eyes, pressing them slightly onto the base of the head. There should be a distance between the eyes equal to one such eye.
5. We gain volume for the future face.In place of the forehead we place a plastic plate approximately five millimeters thick, a teardrop-shaped module - in place of the nose, two equal round modules - on the cheeks and one, slightly smaller than the previous ones - in the place where the mouth will be.
6. Using a metal spatula, glue the plastic modules to the head base and to each other. Remove the eyes, as they will be attached later.
7. Using a narrow stack with a spherical tip, form the nostrils; using a scalpel or a narrow stack, cut out the mouth.
8-11.We smooth the workpiece with a flat brush and Vaseline. Vaseline slightly dissolves the upper thin layer of plastic, which allows us to make uniform and smooth surfaces. We bake the head workpiece using the "pre-baking" method and sand it with sandpaper until it is perfectly smooth. We mold the "notches" that are on the chameleon's face from raw plastic and attach them, gluing them with a thin spatula.
12. We also make the body blank from foil. For the strength of the thin parts of the neck, arms and legs, we use thick copper wire.
13. For the neck, roll a plastic "sausage" and pass the wire through it. Roll it lightly on a hard surface.
14-16.Apply the neck to the head evenly from all sides using a stack. Apply the head with the neck attached to the body blank. The attachment point must be pre-pierced so that the wire inside the head penetrates the body. Apply raw plastic to the entire body base, forming proportions.
17-18. We mold the feet in the shape of a shoe tree.We also bake the leg blanks using the "pre-baking" method. We also mold the arms, giving them curves according to the intended pose. One of the arms will hold a spear, so we mold the hand so that we can later insert this object into it.
19-20.Next, we glue the pre-fired parts to the raw plastic of the body. We do another "pre-fire" of the entire work and carefully sand it with fine-grained sandpaper. After that, we bake it with a "full fire" (read below about this type of firing), paint it with acrylic paints, and cover it with a finishing matte varnish. We decorate it with accessories and clothing items and attach it to the stand with super glue. Our chameleon is ready!
Pre-firing:Place the raw plastic in a cold oven, raise the temperature to 90°C and hold for 20 minutes without raising or lowering the temperature. After this time, cool the plastic completely without removing it from the oven. The plastic should become matte. Complete baking: place the plastic in a cold oven and raise the temperature to 90°C, hold for 20 minutes. After this time, increase the temperature to 100°C and hold for 15 minutes, then increase the temperature to 110°C and bake at this temperature for another 15 minutes. According to this scheme, continue to increase the temperature to 120°C and hold the plastic for 20 minutes. Cool completely without removing it from the oven. The plastic should become absolutely cold. So, our doll is ready!
