Snud, connected by a pattern of a knob. The work of Xenia
Winter is coming - it's time to think about warm clothesaccessories, so necessary in the cold. One of such helpers in the fight against winter cold is a snood or a pipe/collar. Worn over a jacket or down jacket, it warms the throat well, holding the hood at the base. If desired, it can be used to cover the head or as an addition to everyday clothes.
I took the path of least resistance andarmed with a #5 hook and wool yarn (I don't remember which one I used, but it was thick, woolen, like Pekhorka). I didn't bother with the pattern either, "bumps", in my opinion, are perfect for knitting a tube scarf: firstly, the pattern is simple and knits up pretty quickly; secondly, the pattern is beautiful and voluminous; thirdly, it doesn't twist when knitted in the round, folding into a single, even fabric.
I knitted two snoods, one for myself (blue),another for a teenage girl (beige-brown). Another advantage of the "bumps" is that you can experiment with the color scheme in any direction :). The number of air loops for the first row is individual, I estimated "by eye", adding the thickness of the jacket with which I plan to wear the snood. The scarf is knitted in a circle (I attach a pattern diagram). I knitted the first row of "bumps" for the upper walls of the loops of the previous row, knitted the following rows in a checkerboard pattern, knitting not for the walls of the loops, but for the entire air loop. The height is also individual - you can knit additional rows to make it possible to turn up. The finished snood can be knitted with single crochets with a thread that is contrasting or matches the main color of the product.
