Lizard of beads: weaving a three-dimensional figure according to the scheme (video)

Content

Volumetric beaded figures are a great waypractice, master new beading techniques, or you can please the children with a new keychain or toy. The lizard can be made in two ways: using flat or volumetric weaving techniques. The first option is simpler, but the volumetric lizard will turn out just like a living one. We will try to weave it in the master class.

Necessary materials

First of all, you need seed beads. You can choose any color: make a lizard or just like it is, or fantastic. Why not? To begin with, you can make a single-colored figure, and only then study the creation of a color, with transitions of color. Beads should be small enough, it is better to take two sizes, for example №8 and №10. Too large beads for work do not fit - this figure will not hold. The main condition - the beads should be beautiful and bright, so that the lizard turned bright and cheerful.

To work you will need:

  • 10 g beads of the main color (for example, green);
  • 5 g of beads of a similar shade to create color transitions on the back;
  • 5 g of light-colored beads – for the belly.

In addition to work will need 4 brightBeads of size 10 - for the design of the eyes and nostrils. The color should be chosen in such a way that it contrasts better with the main one - otherwise the muzzle of the lizards will turn out to be "blind".
For the base you will need a thin, strong fishing line.If you don't have any, you can use regular sewing threads, but the figurine may not be rigid and strong enough. If you use threads in your work, you will need to take a needle - thin enough to easily pass through the holes of the beads. To create a volumetric lizard, it is better to use strong, but thin enough wire. The finished volumetric lizard made of beads is often stuffed with filler, you can replace it with regular polyethylene, you also need to stock up on it before starting work. With it, the finished figurine will look better, and it will be quite suitable as a toy. Cellophane can also be replaced with crumpled paper.
We will cut the thread using scissors or nippers.
But the most important thing you will need for the work is patience. There is nothing complicated in weaving a lizard, but it can be difficult for beginners to work for a long time with small material.

Highlights of work

Before you make a lizard of beads you need to determine the basic techniques that we will use in the work.

To get a three-dimensional lizard figure, we will use the parallel weaving technique. For ease of work, the remaining parts - paws - can be woven separately and then attached to the body.
If you need to connect two threads during work, it is better to do this with a knot: this will make it easier to hide the ends in the hole of the bead.
To avoid getting confused in your work, you can do it on a separatePrint out the weaving pattern on a sheet of paper and use it to mark the progress of the work. It also makes it easy to navigate the required length of fishing line and the order of weaving the parts. All color transitions are also marked there. If necessary, you can use your own color patterns; the instructions on the order of beads on the pattern will help you cope with the weaving.
To weave our lizard, we will use the following pattern:

Lapdancer lizard of beads

First, we measure the length of the used wire (wire), it should be no more than 3 m.
The weaving of the lizard begins with the nose.We will weave both the upper and lower parts at once. The upper part on the diagram is the odd rows, the lower is the even ones. We do it using the parallel weaving technique, focusing on the diagram in the order of rows and color changes. At the same time, do not forget to slightly bend the upper rows upwards, and leave the lower one even, so that we get a three-dimensional figure.

When the lizard's body is completely ready (after 36rows according to the pattern), we stuff it with paper or polyethylene. Then we continue to weave the tail of the lizard according to the pattern in exactly the same way as the body to the end. We twist the ends of the thread or wire, carefully trim them if necessary.
Next you need to weave the paws.To do this, take another 80 cm long thread. Weave in exactly the same way, with parallel weaving. Finish by weaving the "fingers". They can be made with needle weaving. String 5 beads onto the fishing line and pass the fishing line back through all but the last one. Repeat this technique 4 more times. If you want to highlight the "fingers", you do not need to choose beads that contrast with the main color.
There should be 4 identical paws in total. Attach the finished part to the body as shown in the diagram. Forelimbs – to the bottom at the level of rows 20 and 24, hind limbs – 38 and 42.
We attach the paws, secure the fishing line and trim it with scissors, mask the ends inside the lizard. The beaded lizard is ready. All that remains is to decorate it by beautifully bending the paws and the long tail.
If something doesn’t work out, don’t despair and give up beading: the technique is quite simple for beginners, so you can master weaving quite quickly.
The finished lizard can become a wonderful keychain, a pendant for a phone. Or it can become just a nice souvenir, because the lizard symbolizes wealth and well-being.
