Master class rabbits with a pattern will teach you how to create natural soft toys made of cloth with your own hands.
Soft linen toys with naturalfiller - perhaps the only type of toys that can be considered absolutely safe from an ecological point of view. After all, even wooden, clay, paper are covered with paint and varnish, and their parts are glued together, and all the naturalness of wood and other materials is nullified by the presence of paints and varnishes of unknown composition. But natural things are expensive, even a small rag doll of good quality will be an order of magnitude more expensive than its plastic counterpart. But if you sew such a toy yourself, its cost will be small, especially if you use old linen clothes, and at least partially take fabric scraps for the filler. Tools and materials for work:
- gray linen cloth;
- cotton wool and trimming fabric for filling;
- thread;
- needle;
- scissors;
- paper;
- a small rectangular piece of cloth for the dress;
- a narrow satin ribbon;
- toy eyes.
Work sequence Fold a sheet of paper in half and transfer the outline of the template onto it. Cut the template out of paper, unfold it and transfer the outline onto the fabric. You will need two identical patterns.
You can choose the size of the bunny at your discretion, but if it is too small, it will be very difficult to turn the sewn fabric inside out.
Place the cut out pieces together with the wrong sides togetherside of the fabric outward and sew along the contour, stepping back from the edge of the fabric by 4-5 mm. It is important to make a sufficient indentation so that the seams do not come apart, since the raw edge will crumble a little. Sew the entire perimeter except for the top of the head.
Turn the fabric inside out, using a pencil if the toy is small. Straighten the seams well. Tightly stuff the body with cotton wool, padding polyester or small scraps of fabric.
Make the ears using the template for the lower legs.
The ears can be left without stuffing or just a little bit. You don't need to stuff them tightly, otherwise they will stick out.
Sew on the ears, tucking the unsewn edges of the fabric inward. At first, the ears will be facing out to the sides and slightly downwards.
Sew up the rest of the head, and turn the ears down and secure them in this position with a few stitches. Embroider the nose and mouth with black thread, glue the eyes.
For the dress, cut a long rectangular strip of fabric, fold the edges and stitch. Gather one edge with a thread and sew an elastic band underneath.
Place a satin ribbon over the bunny's neck, tie a knot on the chest, and then tie it in a bow at the back. Our girl's hair can be made from a satin ribbon, melting one edge and letting the other one fall loose.
