Master class on making your own jewelry – brooch-clip with roses made of foamiran.
So the wonderful soft autumn has passed, neatlystepping with soft paws, painting nature in bright colors. And we will extend the summer a little and make a fiery orange rose from foamiran. This will be a universal decoration that can be worn as a brooch or as a hair clip. If you have never held foam (foamiran, or it is also called revelure) in your hands - this is a reason to join our master class. You will definitely succeed! In addition, this is a great opportunity to occupy the child and spend time usefully, developing fine motor skills. The baby can be instructed to cut out or twist untinted blanks. So, we need:
- three leaves of foyamiran white, beige and green;
- Oil paints and a plate or a palette;
- a small piece of food foil and a toothpick;
- scissors;
- flower stencil on paper (the simplest five-leaf flower. The simpler – the better);
- brush or a piece of foam rubber sponge;
- glue gun.
For work we use foamiran of three shades. White - for tinting and the main flower, beige - for auxiliary flowers and green - for leaves and calyx.Let's start with the buds. The stencil that will be used to cut out the flowers is the simplest option for a flower with five petals. You can find it on the Internet or draw it yourself.Apply to beige foam and cut outthe required number of blanks. For one bud, you need two flower blanks. Slightly stretch each petal with your fingertips and twist it into a spiral in different directions. Don't worry, you won't tear the material when twisting, but you should be careful when stretching the petal, as it's easy to tear the foam by stretching it a little more than necessary. To understand how much you can twist and stretch, just practice on two test pieces from the scraps.We form a small drop from the foil.We put it on a toothpick (these manipulations(for convenience only, because it is easier to hold the bud and twist the rose on a stick). We string it on the first tier of petals and glue it with hot glue, then glue the second tier. The glue should be applied only to the lower part of the petal. To make a cup, you can cut a small wedge out of green foam.Cut it along the edges and tint it with umber or ochre. Twist it with your fingertips.And glue it to the bottom of the bud.Let's start working with the main flower. Cut out two stencil blanks from white foam. This will be the core of the flower.Next, we cut the foamiran into strips about 4 cm wide along the entire length of the cut.We cut it into squares. It is not necessary to measure each cut precisely with a ruler. Nature is characterized by slight carelessness.We form a petal from the squares. We cut it out with scissors in the shape of a drop. We stretch the foamiran with the pads of our fingers, forming a small indentation, and twist it in different directions.Let's start tinting.For the core we will take grass green, ochre,white and yellow medium. Paint around the circumference with orange and red. It is very important to paint not only the center of the petal, but also the places where the foamiran is cut. Otherwise, the naturalness of the flower disappears.We stretch. We twist.We begin assembling the flower. We string the tiers (blanks from the stencil base), add single petals and glue them in a spiral, applying glue to the bottom.First, we form the inner part of the flower using stencil blanks that have been pre-processed and tinted, and then we add splendor with individual petals. We cut out the lower petals in the shape of a heart and the size of the square is already about 5x5 cm.We are tinting.We twist the petal into a spiral. The paint itself will be evenly distributed over the surface of the petal. It is very important that the cut line is completely painted. Add the lower tiers. Glue the edge of the next petal to the middle of the previous one. How lush your rose will be is up to youyou. The more petals, the more luxurious your flower will be. Our flower has about 40 petals. Then we glue the cup. For a large rose, the wedges should be, accordingly, about 8-10 cm. We assemble the roses together. On a small piece of foamiran, we glue a large rose, tea buds with hot glue and for decoration you can add stamens of green, gold or orange shades. By the way, you can assemble it using the same principlesmall roses, securing them to a hairpin. It is convenient to make a bud from two stencil blanks, and a half-opened bud - from three. Here I would also like to note that it is better to attach the rose to the hairpin on a piece of cotton fabric, lace or satin ribbon. This will give strength to the decoration, and the rose will not fly off the hairpin while wearing.
