For the Bereginya doll, the fabric is chosen bright, necessarily natural, and dried medicinal herbs (thyme, sage, mint, St. John's wort), cereals, cotton wool, synthetic padding can be used for the filler, as the craftswoman decides.It must be said that in the old days girls checkedwith such dolls the guy's readiness for marriage. The engaged girl made several dolls herself and put them on the open window. Guys walking by came up, took the dolls and looked at them. That's when the girls noticed: if the guy was just playing with the doll, then he has not yet left childhood, if he immediately looked at the headdress - he needs a smart wife, if at the chest - the guy is full of playful thoughts, but is in no hurry to get married, and only the one who immediately began to look under the hem (it is no coincidence that this place is called "cabbage" in dolls, with a hint that this is where children are found), then he is completely ripe for marriage. So, to create Bereginya we will need the following materials: filler (in our case it is synthetic padding); - variegated calico fabric; - flesh-colored or white calico; - canvas; - white and orange (red) thread.We tear off or cut off a square from the flesh-colored fabricmeasuring eight by eight centimeters, we put a small piece of padding polyester in there, form a head the size of a small walnut, and wind it with white thread.We stretch the loose fabric under the head and mark where the handles will be.We make each handle like this: tuck the corner inward, then fold each side “airplane” three times, fold in half, tie, stepping back one and a half centimeters from the edge. Now we take the colored fabric and tear off two slightly smaller squares, with sides of six centimeters.We put a piece of synthetic padding into each one andwe wind them up, tying knots, saying health on them - these are breasts (it is noteworthy that such "busty" Beregini are not found among all peoples).We tie each breast under the chin of the head, not forgetting about the knots.All that remains is to make a skirt, an apron and a scarf.For the skirt, we tear off a rectangular piece and apply it so that we can do the "reverse" wrapping, that is, we apply the fabric right under the chest with the front side down so that it covers the head, wrap it under the chest, tie a knot. We lower the hem, smooth it out. Before making the scarf and apron, tie a double red or orange thread or satin ribbon on the head (this is both a headdress and a talisman).We make an apron from a small piece of linen, turning the top part up a centimeter and inserting a twisted thread into the fold, tying it at the back.We cut out a triangle from the linen and tie it on the head “like a woman”, with a knot at the back, spread the ends of the scarf along the back and hide all the threads.We straighten the hem and put our beauty in a prominent place - let her protect the family and bring happiness.
