A master class toy crochet for beginners will teach how to make soft toys with their own hands, as an owl crochet.
Soft toys, knitted with your own hands, alwayslivelier and warmer than store-bought ones. They contain a piece of the soul of the one who created them. They are always unique, inimitable and original. In this master class, I want to show how you can easily and quickly crochet an interesting owl. To crochet it, you don’t need to be a virtuoso crocheter – you just need to know the basics, be able to crochet simple single crochets and air loops. And you don’t need much material or time for it, and the result will definitely please you. So, for the owl you need:
- acrylic threads (25g/40m): lilac – 25g, a little bit of purple, white, dark blue and beige;
- hook;
- needle with a large eye;
- wadding or sintepon for packing.
Let's go.The owl's body will consist of only one part. First, we will knit a circle. We have already knitted circles for a snowman, a monkey, and a hedgehog (you will find my master classes on these toys on our website). We will start the circle with 4 air loops. Next, eight double crochets. And in each subsequent row, we make 8 increases evenly. This way we get rows of 16, 24, 32, 40, and 48 loops. We stop here.Next we will knit a pipe. We will do it without lifting loops, that is, knit in a spiral. We knit the pipe to a height of 10 cm.We put our owl's body aside for now and start working on the eyes. With white thread we knit a circle of 3 rows - 16 loops. And we make another one just like it (after all, the owl has two eyes).Next are the pupils. These are also circles, only smaller. Using dark blue thread, we will make circles from 2 rows – 8 loops in the last row. We also need two of these circles.There is one more paired detail left to knit – the wings. For the wing, we will make a chain of 10 loops, we will take a purple thread.Let's remember how we knitted leaves for poinsettia(see on our website). We will tie our chain on one side completely with simple columns, without yarn overs. And on the other side we will not finish knitting two loops. At the top of the chain in the outer loop we will knit three columns, not one.Let's turn the knitting and make another row of single crochets. At the top, we will also knit three single crochets. In this row, we do not finish knitting two loops on the other side of the wing.We turn the knitting over, knit with single crochets again. We finish knitting at the top of the wing. Now let's return to the body. We stuff the owl with cotton wool or synthetic padding.We “tie” the top of the toy by connecting the opposite loops.We finish the row, cut the thread and pull it inside our owl.Sew the owl's eyes. I sewed both circles to the owl at once, without sewing them together before.We will embroider the beak with beige thread.And let's sew wings on our owl.Well, what kind of owl can there be without tassels on its ears? Let's make tassels. For this, we'll cut threads of purple and lilac colors.We will pull one thread into each corner and secure them with knots. Each one!We will trim the finished brush.And we will make the second one symmetrically.This is such a cute owl. It's a pleasure to knit it, isn't it?
