How to turn a regular notebook intoan original and unique gift? You can dress it up in a cover made by yourself and decorate it by hand. Then your gift will definitely be appreciated. And you certainly won’t call it ordinary. In this master class, we suggest making a New Year’s cover for a notebook.You will need the following materials:• notebook, • fleece, • felting wool (green and white), • hot soapy water, • sewing thread. Tools: • regular bubble wrap, • gauze or mosquito net, • felting needle, • scissors, • sponge (thick), • rolling pin for felting, • chalk, • needle. You will also need an iron and a sewing machine. How much fleece we need depends on the size of the notebook. We need a strip with a width equal to the height of the notebook + 1 cm, with a length sufficient for the “girth” of the notebook with folds on both sides of 5 - 7 cm. Let's mark the area where we will be with chalk.to do the drawing, – this is the front side of the notebook cover. From the green wool we tear off small fibers about 8 - 10 cm long. We twist them at the ends between our fingers. We form a teardrop loop from them. We got the bottom row of branches of the Christmas tree.In each subsequent row there is one less loop. Our notebook is small, so three rows of branches were enough.Now we pierce the wool over the entire surface with a needle so that it is fixed to the fabric. We put a thick sponge or foam rubber under the fabric.The second layer - we form loops from light green wool in the same way. And we also felt the wool with a needle.We will make snowdrifts and clouds from white wool. You can also put some snow on the branches of the tree. We also felt the white wool with a needle.Now we roll the entire applique onto the wet surface.We spread gauze on bubble wrap (with the bubbles facing up). On top of that is the fabric with the applique. We cover it with gauze, wet it with hot soapy water and cover it with film. Now we felt it - we roll it with a rolling pin in different directions so that the wool finally attaches to the fabric. After that, we rinse the fabric and dry it.We baste the folds of the notebook cover. And stitch them by hand or on a sewing machine. Fitting.The cover is ready! Author: Marakova Katerina.
