Decorate a candle, turning it into a New Year's candleaccessory, you can do it in 15 minutes. You can glue rhinestones onto the candle, tie bows, decorate with acrylic paints, and sprinkle with sparkles. Another type of decor is decoupage, which is best done on a candle using the “hot method”.
Take any fairly thick candle (D=5cm), a New Year's napkin with a small pattern (so that small fragments can be separated), a teaspoon, a lighter, a small candle (working), acrylic shiny outlines.
Separate the top layer from the napkin.
Cut with scissors or tear out small piecesfrom a napkin. For example, here I tore out squares with small bears. The size of the fragments was chosen so that the sum of their lengths was equal to the circumference of the candle.
Light a work candle.
Heat the concave surface of a teaspoon over the fire of a working candle.
Press one prepared piece of napkin tomiddle of the candle. With the back of a heated spoon, slowly run over the top of the fragment of the napkin. We make light stroking movements with a warm spoon, without pressing too hard, so that the paraffin begins to soften. Under the influence of temperature, paraffin melts and is absorbed into the napkin.
Warm up the spoon periodically and repeat this manipulation until the entire piece “sticks” to the surface. to the candle using paraffin.
Wipe the surface of the spoon from soot to avoid accidentally staining your work.
When one fragment sticks, place it next to itexactly the next one, aligning the edges. In the same way, use a hot spoon to pass over the second bear. If you choose the right size of the fragments, their junction will not be visible.
Use glitter acrylic outlines to add accents to the teddy bear figures.
After drying, the whitish base of the contours will become transparent and the glitter will shine.
This is the “hot decoupage” on a candle, with some skill, you can do it in just 15 minutes. There is no need to varnish this decor.
