Master classes on decorating and creating candlesticks from beads with photo and description.
Candlesticks in our time – beautiful elementdecor, sometimes, an indicator of luxury or a work of art. However, he took on the role of decoration not so long ago; in past centuries, a candlestick was a necessary item. For example, the ancient Egyptians inserted candles into special stands that looked like a lotus flower, from which, according to legend, the sun god Ra emerged, bringing light to people. These candlesticks had primarily a ritual significance, and only over time people discovered that this was also a very convenient solution for everyday use. A new round in the history of the candlestick began in the 16th century. It was simply an iron or wooden block with recesses for candles. Functionality was valued first and foremost; no one thought much about the decorative component. However, the Renaissance made its own adjustments, and candlesticks that are real masterpieces were born. Florentine and Venetian decorated with carvings, precious metals, various figures, inlaid with precious stones, pompous and elaborate. In the modern world, there are many candlesticks made in a variety of directions and styles. In order for a candlestick to suit a specific interior or an important event, you can make it yourself. In the master classes presented in this article, candlesticks made of beads will be considered. This is one of the most popular materials for needlework. Thanks to the variety of colors and shapes of small beads, you can create a candlestick to suit every taste. The simplest candlestick decorated with beads.The beauty of this candlestick is that the ability to weave beads is absolutely not necessary to decorate it. You will need:
- Beads of different colors;
- A glass beaker (it should be larger than a candle in diameter);
- PVA glue.
Pour the beads into a flat plate and mix (if you have taken several colors).Spread glue on one half of the glass and leave the bottom clean.
Roll the glass half with glue in beads.
Wait until the glue hardens a little. Cover the other half of the glass with glue and beads. Wait a little longer and cover with glue and beads in another layer.
Wait until it dries completely, and the candlestick is ready.
Very often, needlewomen keep a lot ofall sorts of little things from the “what if you need it” category. If among these things there is a small frame from an old candlestick, a children's toy or something else, then its time has come. Beaded candlestick in warm colors.
You will need:
- Frame;
- Beads of different colors or shades;
- Wire;
- Nippers or scissors.
It is necessary to clean the frame from the old coating. You will get a “skeleton”, on the basis of which a candlestick will be created.Secure one end of the wire around the base of the frame.
Start stringing beads onto the second end of the wire.
Use low beads to make a “skeleton” winding. in a spiral. Where the frame has ribs, it will be necessary to make a coil of wire around them for better fastening.
When the winding is completed, it will be necessarymake a couple of turns of the wire tail and hide it in the last row of beads. The candlestick is ready. You can safely insert a candle and get ready for a romantic dinner.
And here is a slightly more complex version of the candlestickmade of beads on a frame. You don’t have to use the old “skeleton” and don’t buy it in a store, but make it yourself from thick wire. Then the candlestick can be considered exclusive with 100% certainty. Such designer items will be an excellent gift for family and friends.
You will need:
- The frame is made of metal (in this master class a cube is used);
- Multicolored beads of different formats;
- Large beads (rectangular, square and diamond-shaped);
- Wire, combined in color with beads;
- Scissors or nippers, pliers.
The work, as in the previous case, will take place from the bottom up. It is necessary to secure the wire with several turns around one leg (rib) of the frame.
String beads onto a wire and braid all 4sides of the cube. In the rows you can and should change the colors of the beads; one can be made from beads of a different diameter. The main thing is that the shades of the beads are in harmony with each other.
Having completed 4 – 5 rows, proceed to the next part of the decoration. Make triangles from wire with beads, attach the wire diagonally to the horizontal jumpers of the frame.
You can combine beads and beads, choose different sizes, the main thing is that all the space is filled. You can first draw the expected pattern of the future candlestick.
Repeat winding the rows of beads again, as at the beginning of the work.
Insert crystals into the square holes; beads that are almost the same size as the square “windows” will look most harmonious.
The upper part of the candlestick is again braided with beads as in the very first step. Secure the tail of the wire with a couple of turns and hide it in the bead row.
All that remains is to align the wires with the beads and the candlestick is ready.
Many needlewomen face a problembead calibration. Probably everyone came across beads or even packages of beads that were slightly different in size from each other. And if such beads are not suitable for products like necklaces or earrings, then you can easily use them for candlesticks. When making your next candlestick, not only such beads will be useful, but also trinkets from the “what if you need it” section. These could be, for example, shells from an old bracelet. In this master class you will create a beaded candlestick in a marine theme.
You will need:
- Hairpins for hair (for 1 candlestick 6 pcs.);
- Wire;
- Beads of white and different shades of blue;
- Shells;
- Scissors, nippers, pliers.
First you need to shape the studs, as shown in the photo.Twist the hairpins together with wire for a stable structure. For reliability, you can glue it.
Next, secure one tail of the wire in the verybottom and start decorating with beads, as in previous versions. To make the rows more neat and even, make a turn of wire at each joint of the studs. In 4 – 5 rows can be woven with shells. The upper parts of the candlestick are braided separately.
For the bottom, use a similar winding principle. Make several turns, securing the wire in different places of the frame.
The candlestick is ready.
The following candlestick in bright colors and shades will suit creative people who love life in all its manifestations. Beaded candle holder with a bright geometric pattern.
To create such a positive candlestick in rich shades, you will need knowledge of the principle of “brick weaving”. Required:
- Beads of bright colors;
- A glass of suitable size;
- The line.
The principle of brick weaving is quite simple. Here is a diagram. All that remains is to draw on it the pattern that you like, or use the one suggested here.
It will be necessary to weave a ribbon equal in length to the circumference of the glass and equal in height to it. Wrap and sew with the same fishing line.
The beauty of this type of weaving lies inthat in addition to various patterns for beads, you can use small patterns for cross stitch. Ethnic style motifs will look great in such candlesticks. Beautiful and original candlesticks will make excellent gifts. Instead of glasses, you can use any glassware with smooth sides. And you may again need things from the “what if you need it” category, for example, a jar of cream or an old vase.
