The parking method was invented to make it easierwork of embroiderers who are not afraid to take on work that requires using hundreds of shades of thread. After all, when embroidering such work, it is not difficult to get confused in the fabric, threads, pattern... The essence of the parking method is to embroider a certain part of the pattern (as a rule, it is equal to a square with a side of 10 cells). When the work with one thread comes to an end, it is not secured or cut. Instead, the thread is "parked" in the place where the first cross of the same color will be embroidered on the next section of the pattern.
Embroidery parking significantly optimizesembroidery process, you just need to get used to it. Thus, the work is done faster, in addition, the method allows you to see the mistakes made and correct them in time.
General recommendations
It is necessary to say that embroidery by parking method is notHas some strict limitations and instructions. The most important condition is that the embroidery process should be fun, and should also be easy to navigate in the workflow.
It is better to secure the material on an embroidery machine.Each thread can be threaded into a separate needle, or you can constantly change it. Both methods have their drawbacks. In the first case, a large number of needles will be constantly in operation - this can lead to the loss of a needle, you can prick your hands. If you constantly pull the thread out and pull it in, the thread loses its original appearance. As for the length of the thread, this also depends on the experience and skill of the embroiderer. You can embroider with a thread of any length - the main thing is that it does not get tangled. However, if it is difficult to work this way, you can use a short thread. The parking method involves making each cross separately, however, if the pattern has a section that can be embroidered in rows, this is not prohibited. Threads that are not needed in the work can be secured with a hair clip (invisible or "frog").
Organization of the workplace
As mentioned earlier, for cross stitching using the parking method you will need a machine. This is especially important if the final version of the embroidery is supposed to be large in size.
You will also need a pair of special foam rubber ones.cushions, trimmed on top with unbleached calico. Unbleached - so that the eyes do not get tired of too bright whiteness and especially from colorful prints. You need to sew an elastic band to them, the length of which should be sufficient for convenient movement along the machine and at the same time so that they do not dangle. A special plate is attached to one of the cushions, on which the thread color numbers are written in squares, symbols indicating them on the diagram. A needle with the corresponding thread is inserted into each square. The second cushion serves for convenience: the needle is quickly and easily inserted into it, removed, but does not fall out.
Since the reverse side remains untouched in this type of work (except to occasionally check its neatness), the idle threads hang on it and do not interfere with the embroidery.
With a little imagination and ingenuity, all the necessary tools and materials can be placed right there at hand - on the machine frame. Here is an approximate list of these tools:
- Needles (they can be placed in one container. The main thing is that it is easily opened with one movement, and so that it can be attached to the machine. In this container it is necessary to put some drying material, so that moisture does not accumulate there and the needles do not rust);
- Threads wound around signed bibinks;
- Thread-maker (when the number of threads is large, it saves considerable effort and time);
- scissors.
All metal objects can be attached to theMagnets around the perimeter of the machine. Magnets, in turn, can be secured with double-sided tape. For other items you can twist the screws and hang them on the eyelets. Bobbins with threads are conveniently attached to the rings for several pieces (depending on the diameter), which are hung here as well.
It is very convenient when everything is at hand. This is especially important when embroidering large-sized works with several dozen or even hundreds of different shades of thread.
Technics of embroidery by a method of a parking
The parking embroidery method with squaresThe main principle of parking embroidery is a certain order. The most common parking methods in cross stitch are square and row embroidery.
If the symbols are close together, they are embroidered.one thread. When embroidering with the row parking method, the crosses are embroidered one after another vertically or horizontally. When using square parking, they are embroidered in order within one specific square.
When all the symbols of onecolors are embroidered, you need to bring the thread to the front side at that point of the next row or square, from where the embroidery with this thread will begin. The direction of such work can be any. So, if you embroider with parking from top to bottom, then the thread needs to be parked in any lower corner of the cell. Accordingly, if from bottom to top - then in the upper corner.
Row Parking MethodConvenience of the Parking Methodsquares is that the embroidery is not spread over the entire canvas, sometimes very large, but is embroidered within one small area. Also, this method of embroidering by the parking method is more convenient to work with one needle, although this is not essential.
Embroidery parking rows is more suitable forwork with several needles. You should embroider the cross sequentially from left to right. The thread will be parked in the next row - in the lower left corner of the cross of the same color according to the pattern.

Diagonal parking
Diagonal parkingIt is worth noting that the methodparking in squares has its drawback - their borders are visible on the embroidered picture. They are not striking, but nevertheless - it is visible. To avoid this, you can use the diagonal parking method.
This type of work should start in the lower left corner.The idea is that each subsequent row of the square should shift diagonally by one cell. This shift can be drawn on the diagram - it will be easier not to get confused.
In order for the crosses to be even, andthe back side is neat, it is important to follow a certain pattern: start cross stitching in the upper right corner, bring it to the front side for embroidering the second half of the cross in the upper left corner.
Of course, it may be difficult the first timeunderstand how much the parking method makes the embroiderer's job easier. Especially for those whose visual perception works better. Therefore, before brushing it off with the words "I don't understand anything", it makes sense to search the Internet for videos with master classes and see clearly that there is nothing complicated in embroidering using this method, but if you get the hang of it, the process will go faster than usual and more pleasantly.
