DIY eggshell mosaic – This is an extraordinarily beautiful piece of work.
We always try to make our home cozy, beautiful and unique. There are many options for creativity, everything depends only on your imagination and taste preferences. Not so long ago we had pictures from puzzles, they look good, but let's think about what they look like! Of course, like a mosaic. Mosaic is a real work of art, which used to decorate the palaces of noble people, churches and temples, and today mosaic can become a decoration of your home.
What can a painting be made of?The answer is as simple as it gets – from eggshells. So, let’s get started. We will need: – a base (cardboard, thick paper or plastic plate); – eggshells; – paints and a pencil; – glue; – tweezers; – clear nail polish. First, prepare the base. If it is colored cardboard that does not require special preparation, then you can immediately start assembling the elements. And if you are using a plate, then cover it with the desired color of paint from a can. You can use car enamel in an aerosol can, which dries very quickly. Next, apply a drawing to the base with a pencil. And proceed to preparing the eggshells.
There are many color options. You can pre-boil the eggs in water with dye, like we do at Easter. Another option is to paint the shell with acrylic paints, but first you need to remove the contents of the egg itself. To do this, make small holes at the top and bottom of the egg with a knife and blow the contents onto a plate. Then let the shell dry in a warm place and only then start painting it in the desired color. You can also paint the shell immediately after gluing it to the base, but this is more painstaking work that requires accuracy. Crush the eggshell and, taking into account the resulting "details", begin to assemble the mosaic. Carefully take pieces of shell with tweezers and place them on the base, previously greased with glue. Try to leave no gaps between the shells. Experiment with color transitions as desired.
Once you have assembled the entire picture, you canpaint it with clear nail polish. This will make the display more durable and resistant to external influences. If desired, the painting can be framed and hung on the wall, placed on a shelf or given as a gift to a loved one.
