And if crafts made of plasticine or dough are mostly kids, then such a wonderful material as clay is an excellent raw material for adults. It is natural, formed in the process of destruction of rocks, and artificial. Created in the laboratory, the plastic mass is called polymer clay. It is convenient in handling and beautiful in the products material, which solidifies "polymerizes" under the influence of high temperatures. Polymeric clay is also called plastic self-hardening masses, which congeal in air, for example, cold porcelain. It is great for creating flowers, decorations, decor elements. Glue PVA ¾ cup (it is better to take for wood);
Corn starch 1 tbsp. (200 g);
Mineral oil (you can take an ordinary baby) 2 tbsp. l. (40 ml) + a little more;
Lemon juice 1 tbsp. l. (15 ml);
Wooden spoon;

Mix the starch and glue until smooth.

Add mineral or baby oil and lemon juice.

Put the container on a quiet fire and constantly mix the contents, until the consistency of the mashed potatoes is obtained.

Remove the container from the fire.

Add some oil to the soft hot clay.

Put the hot clay on the work surface and knead it to smoothness and uniform consistency, like a pizza dough.

Wrap the food film so that no air gets into it. After cooling, put it in the refrigerator.

Products made from such clay should be allowed to dry for more than 24 hours. Color after drying, if desired, it is better to use tempera colors. Recipe 2.

Glue PVA (it is better for a tree) 2 items;
Cornstarch 1 tbsp. (200 g);
Water ¾ cup (187 ml);
Glycerin 2 tbsp. l .;

The weight cooked according to this recipe is more durable and sticky. Before molding from it, you need to give a "rest" a few days.

½ cup of water mixed with 2 glasses of glue and boil for 2 minutes. You can do this in a ceramic container in a water bath. Mix all the time.

Mix ¼ cup of water with starch and pour into the mixture. To stir thoroughly. You can add dyes. Cover the mass and allow it to cool.

On the work surface, covered with starch, lay out the mass, add the starch and mix until the mass ceases to be sticky. The finished mass must be malleable and soft.

Keep the dough tightly packed.

Glue PVA (best for wood) 1 item;
Cornstarch ½ cup (100 g);
Stearic acid ½ st. l. (used to create handmade soap and candles, it can be found in handicrafts);
Glycerin 1 ½ tbsp. l .;
Vaseline 1 ½ tbsp. l .;
Citric acid ½ tbsp. l. (13 g);

Combine glue, stearin, glycerin, citric acid and petroleum jelly.

Put on a minimal fire and mix thoroughly.

Pour a little ½ cup cornstarch, mix to avoid lumps.

When the mixture begins to peel off the sides of the dishes, put it on the work surface and knead it for 20 minutes. Clay should be soft, smooth and free of lumps.

Set aside the clay until it cools completely.

Put in a sealed package or wrap with food wrap.

To paint products from polymer clay,prepared according to this recipe, can be acrylic paints. Recipe 4. Cold porcelain, made by this method, is plastic in molding and perfectly freezes. You can cook it in the microwave.

Glue PVA 1 part (240 ml);
Cornstarch (can be replaced with cornmeal) 1 part (240 ml);
Oil (baby) 2 tbsp. l .;
Lemon juice or vinegar 2 tbsp. l .;

You can use a little lotion.

Mix glue with starch until smooth.

Add butter and lemon juice.

The container with the mixture should be heated at 15-tsysekundnymi intervals, constantly mixing. 3 to 9 times, depending on the capacity of the microwave oven, until the mixture becomes sticky.

Apply lotion on hands and work surface.

Stir, slightly cooled down, the mixture 10 - 15 minutes, until it becomes room temperature.

Form the ball from the finished mixture to prevent air ingress. Lubricate the polyethylene film with lotion, wrap the mass in it and leave it in a cool dry place for a day.

After 24 hours, check the mixture. You need to pinch a small piece, the mass should not crumble. If excessively brittle, you can add a little oil to the mixture, or make another portion without stirring and combine it with the one already available. If it turns out too sticky, you need to knead the mass with the addition of starch. You can store this mixture in the refrigerator. A few important points. Ware for cooking should be washed immediately after the completion of cooking, the mass is sufficiently sticky and can spoil it. For the creation of clay, only cornstarch or flour is suitable. You can add oil paints to the finished clay. Work better with gloves, since you always need to mix hot mass.
