You can tie a beautiful sheep with your own hands with a hook and give it to a child or friend for memory.
Amigurumi toys have firmly taken their place of honorplace in the life of those who know how and love to crochet. And this is not surprising at all! After all, a toy made with your own hands is a great gift. In addition, if you knit a toy for a child, you can be sure that it will be made of environmentally friendly materials, because you will choose the yarn and filler. The idea of crocheting a sheep has long settled in my head. And now, finally, I made a master class in which I share with you a detailed description of knitting. Why exactly a sheep? Probably because sheep are always associated with something warm and cozy. I want to immediately warn you about the difficulties that you may encounter in the knitting process. I knitted the head and body of the sheep from the yarn "Kroha" with long pile. It is difficult to knit from it, because the loops are not visible and knitting occurs almost intuitively. Therefore, if you are just starting to master the technique of crocheting, you may have to work a little harder than experienced craftswomen. But the result is worth it! So, forewarned is forearmed. Feel free to take the hook in your hands and start crocheting a sheep.Materials:
- Yarn "Iris" in beige, yellow, lilac, green and white colors. Of course, you can choose the color scheme for your sheep yourself.
- Yarn "Kroha" for fluffy parts of the body. You can also use "Travka" instead.
- Hook No. 1.5 - for knitting with yarn "Iris".
- Hook No. 2 - for knitting with yarn "Kroha".
- Filler.
- Mouline for embroidery spout.
- Black beads for the eyes.
Knitting a sheep's head Let's start knittingwith light beige yarn "Iris" (hook No. 1.5). Cast on 2 chain stitches. 1 row: 6 sc in the second loop from the hook (6 loops). 2 row: [2 sc in each loop of the previous row] - repeat 6 times (12 loops). 3 row: [1 sc, increase] - repeat 6 times (18 loops). 4 row: [2 sc, increase] - repeat 6 times (24 loops).
Row 5: [3 sts.sc, increase] - repeat 6 times (30 loops). Row 6: [4 sc, increase] - repeat 6 times (36 loops). Row 7: [5 sc, increase] - repeat 6 times (42 loops). Rows 8-9: 1 sc in each loop of the previous row (42 loops).
Row 10: [decrease, 5 sts.[sc] - repeat 6 times (36 loops). Row 11: [decrease, 4 sc] - repeat 6 times (30 loops). Row 12: [decrease, 3 sc] - repeat 6 times (24 loops). Rows 13-17: 1 sc in each loop of the previous row (24 loops). We begin to knit the sheep's "forelock" with "Kroha" yarn, for this we use hook No. 2. Row 18: 1 sc in each loop of the previous row (24 loops). Stuff the part of the muzzle knitted with beige yarn "Iris". Row 19: When knitting with such yarn, the loops of the previous row are very poorly visible. Knit very loosely, pull out the loops. Decrease in each loop of the previous row - 6 times (12 loops). Stuff with filler. Row 20: decrease until the hole is completely closed. It is better to simply skip the loops. Finish knitting, hide the "tail". The photo below shows the head of a sheep.
Knitting ears for a sheep (2 parts) Knit with beige yarn "Iris". Hook No. 1.5.
1 row: 6 sts.sc in the second loop from the hook (6 loops). Row 2: [1 sc, increase] - to the end of the row (9 loops). Row 3: [1 sc, increase] - repeat 4 times, at the end of the row knit 1 sc (13 loops). Rows 4-6: 1 sc in each loop of the previous row (13 loops). Row 7: [decrease, 1 sc] - repeat 4 times, at the end of the row 1 sc (9 loops). Row 8: 1 sc in each loop of the previous row (9 loops). Finish knitting. No need to stuff the ears. Leave a long "tail" to sew the ears to the sheep's head later. You can slightly flatten the ears with your fingers, give them the desired shape (see photo). Knitting the body In my opinion, this is the most difficult stage. Now I will explain why. The fact is that the yarn "Kroha", from which we will knit the body for the sheep, is much thicker than the yarn "Iris". I am giving a description specifically for the specified yarn. If you knit the body from thinner yarn, then after the fifth row you will need to make a few more increases in the row. That is, in the 6th row we knit [4 dc, increase] - repeat to the end of the row, in the 7th row - [5 dc, increase], etc. until the sheep's body reaches the desired size. The main thing is that it turns out in the shape of a pear. If you are going to knit with the same yarn as me, then just follow the description below and you will succeed. Knit the body with yarn "Kroha" or "Travka". Hook № 2. Cast on 2 chain stitches. Row 1: 6 sc in the second loop from the hook (6 loops). Row 2: [2 sc in each loop of the previous row] - repeat 6 times (12 loops). Row 3: [1 sc, increase] - repeat 6 times (18 loops). Row 4: [2 sc, increase] - repeat 6 times (24 loops). Row 5: [3 sc, increase] - repeat 6 times (30 loops). Row 6: 1 sc in each loop of the previous row (30 loops). Stuff the sheep's body with stuffing. Row 7: decreases until the hole is completely closed. I repeat: it is better to knit through one loop (if you are knitting with very fluffy yarn). Finish knitting, hide the "tail". I specially photographed the sheep's head and body next to each other so that you know what size the body should be relative to the head.
Knitting paws (4 parts) We start knitting beigewith Iris yarn. Hook No. 1.5.
Row 4: 1 sc in each loop of the previous row.Knit behind the back wall (18 loops). Rows 5-6: 1 sc in each loop of the previous row (18 loops). Row 7: [decrease, 1 sc] - repeat 6 times (12 loops). Row 8: 1 sc in each loop of the previous row (12 loops). Starting from the 9th row, we will alternate the colors of the yarn: purple, yellow, green, white. So, we knit the 9th row with purple yarn. Rows 9-17: 1 sc in each loop of the previous row (12 loops). Stuff the paw: tightly stuff the bottom and loosely stuff the striped part. Next, we will knit with "Kroha" yarn. Row 10: knit with single crochets. There will be less than 12 of them, because the yarn "Kroha" is much thicker than the yarn "Iris", from which the previous row was knitted. Therefore, "by eye" we knit the sheep's shoulder. Row 11: decreases until the hole is completely closed. So, we need to knit 4 identical paws for the sheep.
Assembling the toy Now that all the details of the sheepare connected, you can start assembling the toy. First, let's design the muzzle. I advise you to do this before you sew on the head, because in the place where the head will be attached to the body, you can hide the "tails" of the threads that will remain after you sew on the eyes and embroider the nose. After the muzzle is ready, you can sew on the ears. And now we sew the head to the body. I did this with ordinary threads, because it is not at all convenient to sew with the yarn from which the forelock of the head and the body are connected. Well, finally, sew on the paws. Experiment with their position so that the sheep sits and does not fall to the side.
