It's nice to make New Year's crafts yourself, for example, to crochet balls on a Christmas tree.
Lots of shiny, shimmering, sparklingChristmas tree decorations are sold in stores. But a knitted ball will become a warm, cute, very homely decoration for your Christmas tree. You can knit such a ball on 5 toe knitting needles.
You will need yarn of different colors from leftovers, 5 knitting needles and padding polyester or other filler. 1 row. We cast on 12 loops and divide them into 4 knitting needles in the same way as socks are knitted.
2nd row. We knit according to the pattern.
3rd row. At the end of each knitting needle we make an increase.
4 row. We knit without changes. 5 row.At the beginning and end of the knitting needle we make one increase each. 4 + 2 = 6, and there are 24 loops in a row. 6th row. We knit straight, without changes. 7th row. 6 + 2 = 8 stitches on a needle, 32 in a row. 8 row. Without changes. 9 row. 8 + 2 = 10 stitches on a needle and 40 in a row. 10 row. Without changes.
11 row. 10 + 2 = 12 stitches on a needle and 48 in a row.12 row. Without changes. 13 row. 12 + 2 = 14 stitches on the needle and 56 in the row. 14 row. We add a colored thread to the knitting, ours is red. We knit according to the pattern. The number of loops does not change. 15 row. White thread. 14 + 2 = 16 sts on needle and row 64. 16 – 27 rows. The number of loops does not change, we knit according to the pattern.
28 row. 16– 2 = 14 stitches on the needle and 56 in a row. Decrease one stitch on each needle at the beginning and end. 29 row. Cut off the red thread. We knit without changes, white thread.
We took a simple cheap ball with a diameter of 13 cm. You don’t have to fill our toy with padding polyester, but tie it around an existing ball.
Let's try it on now, since the tapering of the knitting will come next.
Then we knit together with it. Row 30 14 – 2 = 12 stitches on a needle and 48 in a row. 31 row. Without changes. 32– 40 rows. According to the first scheme.
Now all that remains is to adjust the threads with your fingers so that they lie flat, close the top hole and hide the thread inside the knitting, and sew up the bottom hole. And the ball is ready!Happy New Year!
