How to sew an elegant, unique swimsuit with your own hands on a pattern. We sew two kinds of swimsuit for a couple of hours
With the arrival of summer or a trip to the sea, girls go to buy a new swimsuit. We want to offer to sew a swimsuit yourself, so that on vacation you can attract attention and stand out from the crowd.
Materials required:• Fabric about 1.2 meters (elastic, cotton or silk);• Scissors, sewing items;• Elastic band about 3 cm thick;• Pattern of a bikini-style swimsuit;• Sewing machine.
To construct a pattern, you need to take alreadymade or made from an old swimsuit. Manufacturing process: 1. Enlarge the pattern to your measurements and cut out the elements of swimming trunks D1, D2 and D1-D2 from the material, while it is necessary to leave allowances of about 1.5 cm.
2. Sew them together.
3. Fold the edges twice, secure with pins and sew on the machine with threads that match the color of the product.
4.Sew the elastic with a wide zigzag stitch, do not forget to stretch it to the required length, near the folds along the entire edge. Sew the elastic so that it does not press. For the front and back parts, the entire length must be divided in two. As a result, we get that all the folds are evenly distributed on the panties.
5. Sew along the sides and the swimming trunks are ready.
6. We cut out the upper part from the material: D3 - two pieces, and D4-D7 - one piece each, not forgetting to leave 1.5 cm for allowances.
7.We stitch the edges of the bottom and top of the D3 elements and then stitch the stretched elastic to them with a wide zigzag stitch. The length of the elastic is equal to the circumference above and below the chest divided in two, if the sizes are significantly different from each other. If they are slightly different, then take equal ones.
8. Sew the edges of the top. 9. Fold element D4 in half and sew on both sides, and turn it inside out through the third side.
10. Iron the material from which we will make the bow, and fold the edges from the third side inward and stitch with an invisible stitch.
11. We put the rectangular element D6 in half, sew the two sides and turn it inside out.
12.We connect the top of the swimsuit with a bow made with a piece of fabric, wrapping them like a ring in the middle. We sew the piece, and make the stitching invisible by turning the bodice to the wrong side. 13. Sew all the edges of the bow to the top.
14. Using elements D5 and D7, we make a bow for the panties using the same method, sewn on at the back in the middle. 15. The swimsuit is done.
There are swimsuits that are much easier to sew without using a pattern.
Materials required:• nylon fabric in two colors: in our case, gray and apricot (1.4-1.9 m);• panties from an unnecessary swimsuit;• fabric made of natural materials for lining;• paper;• sewing accessories, scissors. Manufacturing process: 1. fold the panties in half and trace them on a piece of paper separately for the front and back parts. 2. cut out 2 elements along the contour from the lining material, without measuring for allowances, and from the main material, already leaving allowances of 7 mm. Sew with a wide zigzag stitch. 3. to sew the front half and the back half together, you need to put them wrong sides together, align and pin along the edges where the legs are located, and then sew with a zigzag stitch. 4. stitch the sides of the panties. If you wish, you can put an elastic band between the fabric and sew along the edges with a zigzag stitch. 5. Tie small ties to the sides, made of fabric of a different color, used for the bodice. 6. Measure the chest circumference and the distance from the top of the chest to the point below it (W). D = OG - 7 cm. 7. Cut 2 rectangular strips of fabric of different shades with dimensions L * W, leaving allowances of 7 mm, and 2 of the same rectangular pieces of lining material, but without allowances. 8. Place the strip of colored fabric with the lining fabric on the outer sides, stitch along the large edges and turn inside out. 9. Fold one strip in half, and push the other through the resulting hole (see the picture below); 10. Sew strips of one shade close to the knot from the wrong side. 11. At the end of the strip of fabric we connect, pin and sew. 12. The swimsuit is done.
