How to make an original bookmark with the symbol of 2016 "Monkey" of felt with your own hands? Step-by-step instructions and photos
According to the Eastern calendar, the coming 2016the year will come to us under the auspices of such a cheerful, funny and cheerful animal as the Monkey. Therefore, various kinds of gifts in the form of or the image of various monkeys are very popular today. Today I propose to make a similar gift in the form of an original bookmark of felt - a monkey. Such a bookmark is always useful to you, your friends or your children, and most importantly, that it will be unique and unrepeatable. It's not difficult to create such a thing with your own hands, it will cope with this task, it will be even for beginner needlewomen and children, in addition to helping you with my detailed master-class with a photo.
Tools and materials
So, to make a bookmark-monkey from felt we will need:
- cardboard (not tight);
- A simple pencil;
- line;
- scissors;
- sheet felt brown and beige;
- Threads of a mulina;
- sewing needle;
- A small piece of thin satin ribbon of red color.
Description of work
1. To begin with, we need to perform the cardboard basis of our bookmark, which will give the product a stiffness and allow you to keep the desired shape. We take the cardboard, it should not be too dense, the cardboard sheet for children's creativity in this case perfectly fits. Draw on it with a ruler, first a strip, about 2 cm wide, and 10 cm long - this will be the trunk of the monkey, and then we paint it on both sides of the foot. Also we draw a head and a muzzle separately. We cut out all the details on the contour using scissors. 
2. Then using the cardboard blanks of the base, as a template, we transfer parts to brown felt, we need to double-fold it first, so that we get two absolutely identical parts of the trunk and head, then we cut everything out. Also we cut out one piece of animal's muzzle out of white felt. 
3. Now we take a needle with a thread of brown color in one compound and sew a muzzle to one of the details of the head, we use for this purpose the usual seam "a needle forward", we try to make stitches small and not too thick. 
4. Next, with black threads embroider on the muzzle eyes and nose of the animal, and red mouth. 
5. After the muzzle of the toy is formed, we connect the front and back of the head and sew them together. We use for this purpose a thread of contrasting white color and a seam stitch. We try to make stitches equal and small. 
6. We put the head of the monkey temporarily aside, and we ourselves undertake to make the main part of the bookmark-trunk. 
7. We take both felt parts of the bookmark, and between them lay a cardboard base, if it turned out to be a little big, you can carefully cut it all around. 
8. Then, armed with a sewing needle with a white thread in one piece, we sew both parts of the trunk with a cardboard base between them. As in the case of stitching the head, we use the same small stitches of the suture seam. 
9. When the work on sewing the trunk of the monkey will be finished, sew the head to it with secret stitches, as it is shown in the photo below. 
10. To decorate our monkey we take a thin red satin ribbon, we form from it a neat little bow and sew it to the side of the animal's head. 
eleven. We just have to make a tail, cut it out of the remnants of brown felt, it is important that the tail is long enough, and could look out from the opposite side of the closed book. Sew a tail from the back side of the bookmark with secret stitches. Also this part can be glued.
