To sew short girls' trousers or breeches you will need: - 0.6 meters of thick fabric; - elastic cord or tape; - tape measure; - scissors; - thread; - sewing machine.

In order for the breeches to look good,When sewing, you should choose a strong fabric that can hold its shape. Corduroy, denim or flannel are suitable for warmer trousers, and calico, linen and crinkle breeches are perfect for wearing in hot weather. According to the finished pattern, you need to mark the length of the breeches, putting aside the required length from the top line and drawing a line where the trousers should end. If you want the short trousers to have a gather at the bottom, you should cut the pattern into three or four parts in order to gather the fabric later.
Next, you need to fold the fabric in half.with the wrong side out and trace the pattern on the fabric with chalk or soap - the base. Cut out the traced parts, not forgetting to leave allowances of one and a half to two centimeters along the edges. After the parts are ready, you should baste the edges of the future breeches and stitch them on a sewing machine, then sew the edges with an overlock stitch. You need to go over the seams with an iron, insert the legs one into the other and baste the seat line, then stitch it on the machine and overcast it. After the operations are done, the upper edge of the trousers should be folded over to the back side several times in order to insert the tape into the drawstring, also stitch, leaving a few centimeters unsewn for the tape. At the end of the work, it is necessary to lay folds or gather the bottom of the breeches and sew on the facing, and also make buttons or fasteners on the sides. You need to insert elastic tape into the drawstring, sew on pockets and the breeches are ready!
