How to weave a small snowman from the rubber for the New Year holidays? Detailed description of the stages of work with step-by-step photos
Winter is about to come into its own!Frosts will start, and children will run and make snowmen. But snow is not the only material from which you can make a snowman. It can be sewn, knitted, felted or woven from rubber bands. In this master class we will weave a snowman in a hat and scarf!
Materials and tools
- Erasers of white, yellow, black, orange and blue colors;
- Hook;
- Machine;
- Filler.
Stages of work
Let's turn the machine with the open part to the right and startthrow on the 1st layer. We will weave on two rows. Let's count nine pins that we will work with. In the process of work, we will count only them, calling the working pin the first pin, regardless of what number it is on the loom. For the first layer, we will need 18 white rubber bands. We will put them on like this: on the 1st pin of the top row, twist it in a figure eight and pull it onto the 2nd pin of the bottom row. Next, throw 1 rubber band onto the 1st pin of the bottom row, twist it in a figure eight and pull it onto the 2nd pin of the bottom row. Then do the same from the 2nd pin to the 3rd, from the 3rd to the 4th and so on to the 9th. From the 9th pin of the bottom row, we will pull the rubber band onto the 9th pin of the top row. We put on the elastic bands on the top row in the same way.We don't throw anything off and put on the 2nd layer. We put it on in the same way as the 1st, but we don't twist the elastic into a figure eight.We drop 2 bottom loops from each pin.We weave 4 more layers in the same way.Do not twist the elastic bands in a figure eight. In the next layer, we will need to add a button to the snowman's body. Take a yellow elastic band and wind it on the hook 3 times. That is, throw it on and throw the same elastic band on 2 more times. Count 4 pins from left to right or vice versa, it does not matter. The main thing to remember is that we are counting the working pins. So, we counted, insert the hook into the 5th pin, throw all the loops from it onto the hook. Now we put the yellow loops from the hook on them. These white loops that were removed from the pin, throw back onto the 5th pin.Next we weave 2 more layers as usual.And we throw on another button for the snowman. We do it exactly the same way as last time. We knit one layer in the usual way. Now we need to narrow the snowman. To do this, we transfer all the loops from the 9th pin of each row to the 8th pin of the same row. We throw off the 2 lower loops.Next we transfer all the loops from the first pins tothe second pins of this row. We also drop the 2 lower loops. Now we have 7 working pins on both rows. Let's make handles. We will make them only with a hook, so we will leave the loom for now. Wind the white elastic band three times on the hook. Take 3 elastic bands and put all the elastic bands from the hook on them. Throw the other side onto the hook. There are six loops on the hook. Take 3 elastic bands again and put all the loops from the hook on them. Put the other side on the hook. Repeat twice. Take 1 elastic band and put it through all the loops on the hook, throw the other side of the elastic band onto the hook. There are 2 loops on the hook.We put this elastic band, on which we have a handle, on the seventh pin of the bottom row and on the seventh pin of the top row.We make another exactly the same handle andwe throw it on the first pins of both rows. We throw it on the remaining pins as usual. We drop 2 loops from the bottom layer. We narrow the snowman again. We transfer all the loops from the 7th pins to the 6th and drop 2 bottom loops from them. And from the 1st pins we transfer the loops to the 2nd pins and also drop 2 loops from them. Now we have 5 working pins on each row. Please note that each time, after removing the loops, there are always 2 loops left on each pin. Next, we weave 2 more layers in the usual way. Next, we will weave the mouth for the snowman. We wind the red elastic band on the hook 3 times. We throw it on the loops of the 3rd pin of the bottom row, just like we put on the buttons.And we weave 2 more layers.Now you need to make a carrot, which will serve as the snowman's nose. To do this, wind the orange rubber band onto the hook 5 times. Fold the orange rubber band in half and grab one end with the hook. Transfer the loops from the hook to it, and throw the other end onto the hook. Fold the rubber band in half again and transfer all the loops from the hook to it. Do this 2 more times.We thread the rubber bands from the hook onto the rubber bands from the 3rd pin.We throw a new layer on top of what we already knowdiagram. As usual, we drop 2 loops of the bottom row. Let's make eyes. We wind the black elastic band onto the hook 4 times. We hook 1 white elastic band with the tip of the hook and thread all the loops from the hook onto it. We throw the other side onto the hook. We repeat one more time. We throw the elastic band with the eye onto the 2nd and 3rd pins of the bottom row. We throw the 2nd eye onto the 3rd and 4th pins of the bottom row.We put rubber bands on the remaining pins as followsusually. We throw off 2 lower loops from each pin. We knit 2 more layers. We transfer all loops from the 5th pin to the 4th on both rows. And from the 1st to the 2nd also on both rows.We have 3 pins left on each row. We knit 1 layer. Now we throw 1 white elastic band on all working pins.We drop 2 bottom loops from each pin.We transfer all the loops to the 2nd pins. That is, from the 3rd pin of the upper row to the 2nd pin of the upper row and from the 3rd pin of the lower row to the 2nd pin of the lower row. The same with the first pins.We throw 1 rubber band onto the working pinswhite. We throw off all the lower elastic bands from both pins, leaving one loop on each. We transfer the loop from the upper pin to the hook, then from the lower pin. There are 2 loops on the hook. We pass the first through the second. We get a knot, tighten it.We throw the snowman off the hook.Turn the weaving inside out. Straighten it out. Fill the snowman's head with stuffing. Throw the loops that form the base of the snowman onto the hook. Half the loops on one hook, half on the second. Throw them so that the hooks are facing in different directions.And we stuff the snowman to the end.Next, we throw the white elastic band onto the hook and pass another elastic band through it. We throw the second side onto the hook. We pass the first loop on the hook through the second. We tighten the knot. And we weave another elastic band in the same way.We ended up with 3 links.We throw the central one on the hook. We grab the outer link with the tip of the 2nd hook and pass it through all the rubber bands on it. We put this rubber band on the 2nd hook. We pass it through all the loops on it. We pull the rubber band well so that the hole closes.We take out the hook and make the most ordinary knot.We hide the protruding loops in the snowman's body. We still have to make a scarf and a hat. For the scarf, take a blue elastic band and wind it on the hook 4 times. Throw another blue elastic band onto the hook and drag all the loops from the hook onto it. Then take another elastic band and transfer all the loops from the hook onto it. And so weave until the desired length. To weave the hat, we will again need a loom. We count 6 columns on which we will weave. We throw on the 1st layer. We throw a yellow elastic band onto the 1st pin of the upper row, twist it in a figure eight and pull it onto the 1st pin of the lower row. Next, we throw the elastic band onto the 1st pin of the lower row, twist it in a figure eight and throw it onto the 2nd pin of the lower row. So up to the 6th column. From the 6th we will pull the elastic band to the 6th pin of the upper row. In the same way we throw the elastic bands on the upper row. Then, according to the same principle, we throw 1 elastic band, but now we do not twist them. That is, the 1st layer is no different from the first layer in the weaving of the snowman itself.We throw off 2 bottom rubber bands from each column.Weave 3 more layers in the same way. Do not twist the elastic band, but simply throw it over the columns. When 3 layers are woven, change the color of the elastic bands to blue and weave 3 more layers.We transfer the rubber bands from the 6th column to the 5thboth rows and drop 2 lower loops from them. Weave 2 more layers. Narrow again. From the 4th column, transfer the loops to the 3rd and drop 2 lower loops from them. And from the 1st column, transfer the loops to the 2nd and drop 2 loops. Weave another layer. Drop the weaving, transferring all the loops to the hook.Then we hook 1 blue rubber band with the tip of the hookcolors and transfer all the elastic bands from the hook to it. There are 2 loops on the hook, pass the first one under the second and tighten the knot. Turn the hat inside out, straighten it out and throw it on the snowman. Secure the scarf to it with one elastic band. This is how cute the snowman turns out!
