Master-class: "Origami on the wall of the pyramids"
Necessary materials:
- Paper for origami or plain paper, cut into squares of the same size (this project took about 100 squares of paper, but you can make a smaller scale composition);
- PVA glue;
- cardboard;
- Scalpel or clerical knife;
- Cutting mat;
- Small capacity;
- Brush for glue;
- A ruler or a stick with which it is easy to bend the paper;
- Frame of your choice.
⇒ Step 1. Cut a sheet of thick cardboard of a suitable size for your composition, use a pencil to thinly outline the area you want to fill with origami.⇒ Step 2: Fold the origami modular blocks.Step-by-step instructions are shown in the video below. This composition required about 100 origami, but you can vary the number as you wish. ⇒ Step 3. After you have folded all the origami, proceed to assembling the structure. Assemble three elements into a pyramid. Next, attach the elements to form a hexagon shape formed by six pyramids. Repeat the process until you fill all the allocated space on the cardboard. While assembling the composition, you can experiment with the color of individual elements. Subtle shades and gradient color transitions in such an installation create a magical and unusual effect. Below is the process of assembling origami into a single structure. ⇒ Step 4.Now carefully turn the whole structure face down. Use tape to secure the edges of the composition. Apply PVA glue to the folds of the structure, turn it over and glue it to the cardboard. ⇒ Step 5: Once the glue has dried, place the origami in a nice frame and hang it on the wall.
