Original coffee table from the window and books
After installing metal-plastic windows in the apartmentwindows are left with old glass in wooden frames. Usually windows are thrown away, as it is very difficult to find a useful use for them in the interior. But we offer an original idea on how to make a small coffee table from a window and old books.
Wash the window well, remove all window coverings.fittings - handles, hinges. If desired, renew the wooden frame: remove the old paint, polish and paint. Wash the glass well. If the window is double, be sure to unscrew it and wash the glass inside. This will be our tabletop. Then think about options for the legs for the table. You can use wooden blocks, a metal or wooden frame from an old table, or unusual materials, such as stacks of old books intended for waste paper! To make the table stable, it is advisable to fasten the books together, for example, with superglue. Alternatively, the books can be put on a metal pin.
I don't know how functional it will bea tabletop from an old window, in principle, you can use a wooden door or just a board instead. Then the tabletop will definitely not shatter into pieces after a heavy object falls on it. It is not recommended to put such a coffee table from a window in an apartment with small and active children, since it is very easy to break a simple window glass. A coffee table from a window and books will look great in the recreation area of the living room in Scandinavian style, Provence, vintage or retro.
