Several Korean designers have developed an interesting concept of urban park furniture, designed to make life a little easier for the homeless. Design development - park benches during the day serve as ordinary benches for passers-by, and at night they turn into a temporary shelter.
When folded, parkThe benches are low seats without a back. If necessary, the bench can be raised using an accordion mechanism, creating a small space inside, protected from rain and wind. Anyone can climb in there, curl up and sleep. Of course, such a shelter can hardly be called comfortable and convenient, especially in the cold season, but it is still some kind of shelter for the night. It is strange that the designers did not provide a folding shutter on the doorway, it would still be warmer. And the length of the park bench could be made to match human height, so that the sleeper could fully stretch out his legs. At the moment, this project remains only a concept. But it is quite possible that soon park benches - shelters will appear in green areas of South Korea or the USA.
