Simon the cat has millions of fans all over the worldworld, whose hearts he filled with lightning speed. And many people want to become the owners of this cat's toy, so this article is dedicated to the creation of this particular drawn character.
Sewing Simon the cat won't be the slightest bit difficultwork even for a small child. And the pattern, detailed photos and descriptions will help you in this matter. The diagram, which can be seen below, is quite suitable for the pattern. And to make the cat the size you need, adjust its shape and print it on a sheet of paper of the format you need.
To make Simon the Cat stuffed animalYou will need a standard soft toy sewing kit. The features of such a kit are fabric (white fleece is ideal) and stuffing material: it is better if it is synthetic fluff or holofiber. Use synthetic padding as a last resort. First, you should transfer our pattern to the fabric. To do this, fold the white fleece in half with the face inward and pin it. Attach the pattern and trace it with a marker or silver gel pen. Here, it is worth considering two things: pay attention to the direction in which the fleece stretches, it should coincide with the directions indicated on the diagram; if you plan to use the pattern more than once, it is better to make it out of cardboard so that it lasts as long as possible.
Without cutting, sew exactly along the outline of the patternmachine stitch or sew by hand using a needle and white thread. Pay special attention to the cat's paws, you need to sew very carefully so that the toy will have a more presentable appearance later.
Cut out your Simon, leaving 2-3mm from thelines. Don't forget to make cuts between the ears and fingers so that the toy looks neater when turned inside out. Just cut out the two circles intended for the eyes along the outline.
To stuff our cat we need to make twocuts. One will be in the place where the eyes will be located in the future, the other - on the tail, where it will connect to the body. Turn all the parts to the front side using a handy stick, which is especially convenient to use when turning out small parts: tail, paws and ears. The toy should be stuffed in small pieces, using the same magic wand. The toy should be stuffed tightly, not sparing the material. Carefully work out each small part of the body. Give the tummy a beautiful shape. Stuff the cat so that there are no wrinkles or dents left.
The slits should be carefully sewn up with a blind stitch, the tail should be sewn to the body, and the paws should be sewn up using a decorative stitch.
Pay special attention to the design of the eyes.They need to be sewn with black threads along the perimeter using a back stitch. And before finally sewing them up, fill them with synthetic fluff or another filler of your choice. Sew decorative black beads right in the center of the eyes. And after the operations are completed, decorate the mouth and nose with black floss.
