The technique for creating a three-dimensional postcard isa relatively new type of art. And the pioneers of this creativity are Europe and the USA. The technique of making a three-dimensional postcard arose under the influence of 3D books, which are distinguished by their creativity and have the ability to unfold in space. Just a couple of cuts and the right bend in a certain way can turn a banal postcard into something truly extraordinary. It is enough to just once understand the basic scheme of such bends and cuts and you can easily create a variety of postcards for any celebration. This article invites you to make an easy-to-make, but very original postcard with your own hands. This greeting card will be designed for a holiday such as Halloween. Take this scheme as a basis and you will be able to create postcards for any holiday, changing only the color scheme.
Choose double-sided colored paper of A4 format(the thicker, the better), paper with various patterns (cuttings from magazines and newspapers, notes, old photographs, etc.), glue, beads, ribbons and other tools that may be needed when making crafts. An important point in making a 3D card is to understand its pattern. To make such a greeting card, prepare a ruler, scissors and a simple pencil. All the dimensions given below can be slightly changed. It is important not to get carried away here, otherwise the card will not be able to fold in the way implied by this template. Although this pattern contains only two horizontal cuts, there are too many folds. It is important not to get confused with the sides in which they should be folded. That is why all the lines are marked in different colors: orange lines indicate that they should be pushed forward, and blue ones - inward.
So that they come out on thick colored cardboardneat cuts, use a special object. This can be a stationery knife or a hand runner. In the absence of such tools, you can use a non-writing ballpoint pen, which you need to press all the fold lines. To give the card additional originality, trim all the edges and make them oval.
When the base is completely ready, you shouldstart decorating it. Use your imagination to the fullest here. Use decorative paper. Since you are decorating a Halloween card, a good option would be to use black-orange-red colors. Additionally, you can decorate it with contrasting elements.

Choose a string or ribbon of a suitable color. Secure its ends on the back side using paper stickers made of decorative paper. This way they will be invisible and firmly secured.
It seems that the decor is already completely ready, but yousomething is still missing. Try to artificially age the edges of the postcard. To do this, you can use special ink that will give the postcard a brown tint. You can find such ink in any craft store, and it is applied with a sponge. If you can’t find such materials, use regular chalk, sharpen its edges with a knife and rub the colored crumbs with a napkin. You can also use a colored pencil instead of chalk.
And now the Halloween card is completely ready.
