Solitude in the mountains: a house on stilts
Unusual design of Delta Shelter mountain house, located in Mazama, Washington, it stands out among the buildings of traditional cottage architecture. The house on stilts is located in a picturesque location where you can admire magnificent views of nature all year round. This makes the hut an ideal refuge from the hustle and bustle of the city, where the owner and friends can have a good time in any weather. The cottage has an area of 92 square meters and has three levels.Essentially, it is a steel box built on stilts and covered with insulated wood panels. The selected materials allow the house to blend seamlessly into the surrounding wilderness. On the lower level of the house there is a utility roomstorage room. The entrance to the living space is located on the middle level. This design of a house on stilts is due to the fact that the owner intends to actively relax in the mountains in winter, and heavy snowfalls will not prevent people from easily entering/exiting the building. On the middle level there are two small bedrooms- master and guest rooms, as well as two bathrooms. Also on this level and the level above are two open steel balconies, offering wonderful views of the surrounding landscapes. In summer you can even sleep there in sleeping bags or on light folding beds. The interior is designed in a minimalist style, using natural materials, wood and steel trim. The upper level of the house on stilts is occupied by a living room, dining room and kitchen. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows provide excellent daylight in addition to stunning views. There is also a large wheel that looks like a steering wheel. The rotation of the wheel moves the strong wooden shutters that cover all the windows. This interesting feature is very useful in bad weather, snowstorms or hurricanes, and also when no one is in the house. The house on stilts was definitely designed forin order to enjoy your stay in the wild and feel safe at any time of the year.
