Sew a free dress on a pattern and photo quickly and easily.
It is very easy to create a dress pattern with your own handsIt is not easy not only for novice seamstresses, but also for experienced dressmakers. Even if you transfer all the measurements taken to paper absolutely correctly, this does not give any guarantee that the product will fit you beautifully. And the whole reason for such inconvenience is that there is probably no such person who would have an ideal figure. It is the non-standard nature of most figures that leads to the fact that it is not possible to create a universal drawing-pattern.The most acceptable option for creating a dresswith your own hands is to build a pattern for a straight dress. But today we will offer you an even easier way to make such a dress model - make a pattern from your T-shirt, without exhausting measurements and incomprehensible terms when constructing the drawing itself. You can make such a dress in 1 evening, without even using a sewing machine. So, let's get started. To make the dress look more impressive, we advise you to choose a bright neon fabric for its manufacture. Material in blue or mint shades will look good on a tanned body. Let's determine how much fabric we need. You should proceed from the fact that you will sew a straight dress, so to speak, "in one length", adding a little material for the sleeves. If you want to create some more folds or a turn-down collar, then the consumption should be increased. If the volume of your hips is more than one hundred and thirty centimeters, then you will need material "two lengths". Also, when calculating the required amount of fabric, it is worth remembering about seam allowances and hemming the bottom line of the dress. We make a pattern for a loose-fitting dress. Considering that this dress model is the simplest, we will not have an urgent need for a pattern to sew it. You can create such a dress using your T-shirt as a template. 1. Fold a strip of knitted fabric with the right side inward along the length. 2. To create a straight dress, take a T-shirt that fits your figure best. It needs to be ironed well, and then we fold it along the line of symmetry. Then you should attach the T-shirt to the material so that the fold line coincides with the fold line on the fabric. 3. Attach the T-shirt to the fabric base using pins, then trace it with chalk, taking into account the seam allowances (one and a half centimeters).4.Then you need to finish the pattern of the back part: choose the required width and length of the product. In the proposed version, we added only fifty centimeters in the armpits and one hundred centimeters along the bottom line. Thus, to 12 back we need to add: twelve and a half centimeters + one and a half centimeters = fourteen centimeters under the arms; twenty-five centimeters + one and a half centimeters = twenty-six and a half centimeters along the hem line. 5. Draw a smooth line of the hem of the product. 6. Create the front part. The whole process is similar to making the back part, but here you need to make the neckline deeper.7.Using the T-shirt sleeve as a template, make a pattern for the dress sleeve on the fabric, the length of which is ¾. 8. Following the selected type of neckline, make a pattern for its facing. Here you will need 2 pieces: 1 for the front, one for the back. 9. Cut out all the elements, leaving allowances for the seams. Also note that if you are not sure you have enough fabric, then it is better to first make a pattern on tracing paper to avoid possible miscalculations. Let's move on to sewing the product itself. 1. Fold the front and back parts of the dress with the right sides inward. In this case, the shoulder lines should be aligned. Next, you need to pin the dress along the shoulder line and process them with a knitted seam or a "zigzag". 2. Pin the sleeves to the front and back. In this case, you need to align the axis of symmetry of the sleeve with the seam along the shoulder. Then you need to stitch it. 3. Pin the seams on the sides from the sleeve line to the waist. Stitch.4. Pin the seams on the sides from the waistline to the bottom. Sew. 5. Baste and then sew the facing to the neck. Next, it needs to be ironed so that the seams end up flat.6. Then you need to pin up the sleeves and the bottom of the dress to the required length. In this case, you can use a blind stitch, a "goat" stitch, or a blind stitch on a machine.Iron the product. Your straight dress is ready! You can wear this product by putting it ona thin belt, or you can make the main emphasis on its lightness and airiness, using just a few original pendants as jewelry. Wear it with pleasure.
