A feature of "patchwork" is that it is possible to create practically from nothing, absolutely any fabrics that you can find at home are suitable. By the way, craftsmen who own this kind of needlework, never long to choose gifts. For any holiday, whether it's New Year or Eighth March, you can make something of this sort. For example, for the upcoming day of all lovers, you can make an original pillow resembling a chessboard, and the figures on it are hearts. A loved one will be very pleased. The manufacture of the pillow includes the following steps:

  • cutting,
  • assembling the squares of the front side,
  • preparation of the tape for decoration,
  • preparation of details for application,
  • connection of the pillow parts.

Necessary materials:

  • silk fabric of two colors (in this case, blue and gray),
  • red felt or red cloth for applications,
  • white satin ribbon,
  • thread.

So, let's get started. 1. We start with cutting. From blue and beige fabric, we cut out strips, 6x40 cm in size. Their number depends on the size of the pillow. Sew the ribbons, shifting the pattern to one square so that the chess pattern will turn out. All the seams are pressed in one direction. From this panel cut out a square 35x35 cm.
