The Princess and the Pea - step by step tutorial

To sew a princess on a pea, we will need:

cloth for the basis of dolls (flax, beige calico);
fabric for pillows and dresses (cotton, chintz);
filler (sintepon, holofayber);
hair yarn;
lace;
Pins;
bead (as a pea);
pattern.

Operating procedure

Our tilde princess is very tiny, about 18cm in height together with pillows. Therefore, the doll's handles will already be clothed in sleeves, and the legs - in panty. Therefore, before moving the pattern, you need to make blanks from two pieces of cloth: from cloth for dress and flax to handles, and from white cotton and flax to feet.

Blanks are made, we can transfer the pattern. As always, the matter is added in two additions. Stitching on the pencil contour stitching on the sewing machine. We cut out details with scalloped scissors (zigzag).

To the edges do not crumble, sprinkle them with hair spray. Details are turned out and stuffed with synthetic filler. The legs and handles are conveniently stuffed with ballpoint holofayber.

We insert the legs into the doll's body and sew them with a blind stitch. We also sew up the lower cut. We move on to the second part - we will dress the doll.

For the dress, we cut out a strip with a size of 10 by 25 cm. We process the lower edge and sew a lace with a zigzag line. The top edge is wrapped 2 times and stitched.

Sew the fabric along the side seam, allowances are ironed. We put the dress on a string and dress on our princess. Thread tighten to the size of the neck and tied.

Sew our hands to the body over the dress with a hidden seam. On the handles and neck we make cuffs from a kapron tape on an elastic band.

The next important thing is to create a hairstyle for the doll. Since we have a doll tilda princess, then the hair should be royal. For a hairstyle, pins and bobbled yarn will be needed.

In the head we stick as many as 7 pins - 5 on the parting andone side, at the level of the ears. We start winding the yarn in random order. As soon as the entire head is closed with "hair", we cut the thread, leaving a length sufficient to fix our wig.

Sew a wig in the location of needles, then remove the needles. For reliability, sew all the parting with small stitches. This is not all - make the princess two fancy tails.

I'm winding yarn on any book, we cut it off. From the obtained threads we form two pigtails. The bouquets are wrapped in pigtails, the remaining yarn is collected in tails. All is well sewn.

We tie the bows from the narrow ribbon to the tails. Draw the eyes of the princess and create a blush. In conclusion, you need to sew cushions.

For pillows we take flaps of three sizes: 12 by 24 cm, 11 by 22 cm and 10 by 20 cm. We fold and stitch four sides. The lower pillow can be made curly. Crop the edges of the scalloped scissors.

In the middle of each workpiece, we make incisions crosswise. Pillowcases are turned out, ironed and stuffed with sintepon. Sew the pillows among themselves. Do not forget to sew a bead - a pea.
