DIY Polymer Clay Doll Face Mold - Master Class
To sculpt dolls, you need to get acquainted withthe basics of working with polymer clay with such objects. Therefore, the first lesson in the formation of a doll is the creation of the necessary forms for its realism.
DIY Polymer Clay Doll Face Mold - Master Class
In particular - the human face and the objects that are present inside. What do we need in the work?
- Styrofoam
- Blade
- Polymer clay
- Pencil
- Ruler
- Arms
How to make a skull figure?First of all, we will make the skull. It is known that the face shapes of many people are recreated from the shape of the skull. Therefore, we will need foam plastic, from which we will make a blank in the right size. Next, you need to take a blade and cut off what is in the way. The base of the head should most often be round. But, some make the foam plastic shape in the likeness of a real human head. At the moment when the shape is ready, you need to take polymer clay and stick small lumps to our skull, while smoothing the ingredient to our foam plastic. In this way, the air under the plastic will not stand and spoil the product.
Once the foam is covered with clay, we candry our head using the oven. Temperature of 40 or 50 degrees is a great option. "Dry" the product for 20 minutes. Next, we form the proportions.
To do this, you need to make certain circleslines with a pencil. Polymer clay and face formation In the middle of the head, vertically divide it into two mirrored parts. In this way, we will observe deviations in paired parts of our face. In the middle of the head, divide with a horizontal line to determine the position of the eyes. Then - we make a vertical circle in the middle of the head to make the expected separation of the ears. Next, using a horizontal line, we determine the border of the ear.
When we turn our heads, it will be clear, that the areas we need to make proportional are not similar. Using six base planes, we divide each of them into 4 parts. Now, our list of tasks includes eliminating these deviations. The bottom layer has already dried, so we are adding new materials to smooth out the shape of the future head. We dry it. Next, we have to form the face. To do this, the head must be divided using three circles. After that, we make an oval molding, which we attach to the frontal part using a tool, then - the piece must be ironed and stuck to the desired area. The head must be moistened and smoothed again. We make small notches for the eyes.
After this, we form the nose part. You can make cheeks initially. Take a flat cake in the form of a "rhombus" and form our nose. In our case, it turned out thin. That's why a thin cake is used. Under the wings, it is necessary to form characteristic lines of the nose. Using a tool, make holes for the nostrils.
Forms for the end of work
The cheeks are easy to make, by tearing off twopieces, by forming a ball, then a flat cake and smoothing it to the head. we will smooth out the figure and get cheeks (puffy). One of the most labor-intensive parts of working on the face is the lips. Here you need to draw the lips, so that you can then process them with your hand. Or, take a photo source. Depending on the style, we make a flat cake, on which we make a cut in the middle and then, iron it and get the desired shape of the lip.The chin is formed from a small ball, which is glued and ironed with our hands. Let's make the eyes! This is difficult and therefore, it is necessary to do them correctly. Symmetrical eyes will add reality to your figure. The line of your eyes should be in the middle of the head, on a vertical area. Then, using the width, we fit our eyes. In total, 5 eyes can fit along the width of the head (for calculating the correct location). We divide the heads into the middle and a horizontal line in the amount of five parts. The second and fourth parts are for the eyes. The third will contain the nose part, then we will make two flat cakes from which we will form a sausage - a small one and flatten it, put it on top of the eyeballs - you will get an eyelid for the top. Smooth it out. The ears are left. For them, we make small lumps, which should be located in the horizontal part. We give an aesthetic shape and fix it, align it. A small crescent shape will improve the base of our craft. Using sandpaper, we bring our product to a thin state. Then, we paint the product. We will get the shape of the face!
