The "El Caregoon de Quercia" plank sofa has arrivedThe result of a collaboration between the Italian studio Cadorin, specializing in wooden flooring, and Gobo Salotti, a master of textile upholstery. Each side brought its own unique, yet recognizable touch to the design of this unusual piece of furniture, which received worldwide attention at the Made Expo Design and Architecture 2013 in Milan. The cushion covers are made of natural linen, while the cushions themselves are filled with the highest quality goose down. But the highlight of the project is the base on which the cushions rest. These are roughly processed boards cut from the trunk of an oak tree, unpainted and unpolished, that is, as close to the natural look as possible. The texture and color of the boards are given by nature itself, which allows them to be organically integrated into the final design. The boards extend the sofa, providing additional space that can be used as extra seating for guests, as a footstool or a coffee/side table.

The studio offers the user to independently select wood from a huge amount of raw materials passing through the flooring production department. This allows you to customize the sofa, harmoniously fit it into the design of the room, in accordance with the material and color of the floor or cabinet furniture. Natural imperfections of wood - cracks, traces of bugs, knots - only add depth and contrast to the texture, and bring a little roughness and simplicity to the interior, which is typical of the rustik style.
