Sofa from the boards of Cadorin
Sofa from the boards "El Caregoon de Quercia" appearedas a result of cooperation between the Italian studio Cadorin, specializing in wood flooring, and Gobo Salotti - a master of textile furniture. Each side has made its own unique but recognizable touch in the design of an unusual piece of furniture that has received universal attention at the world exhibition Made Expo Design and Architecture 2013 in Milan. Cushion covers are made of natural linen fabric, and the pillows themselves are filled with goose down. But the highlight of the project is the basis on which the pillows lie. These are roughly processed boards cut from the trunk of oak, unpainted, unpolished, that is, as close as possible to the natural appearance. The texture and color of the boards was given by nature itself, it allows organically to pour them into the final design. The boards extend the sofa, providing an extra space that can be used as extra-seating for guests, like a footrest or coffee / coffee table.

The studio offers the user to independently choose wood from a huge amount of raw materials passing through the flooring production department. This allows you to customize the sofa, harmoniously fit it into the design of the room, according to the material and color of the floor or cabinet furniture. Natural deficiencies of the tree - cracks, traces of bugs, twigs - only add depth and contrast to the texture, and the interior brings a bit of rudeness and simplicity, which is typical for rustik style.
