However, such decorations are not cheap at all, and you will have to pay a lot of money to decorate the New Year's beauty. If this is not possible, do not be upset, original decorations in the hand-made style can be made with your own hands, and everyone can cope with this task, you just need to be patient, have free time and turn on all your unbridled imagination. Do you doubt that this is possible - no need, but rather try to make an original Christmas tree decoration with me - a gingerbread house made of felt - and see for yourself that everything is extremely easy, accessible and simple.

Tools and materials

So, to make a gingerbread house out of felt we will need:

• sheet felt brown and white;
• artificial filler;
• thin satin ribbons of red and green color;
• scissors;
• white thin threads;
• sewing needle;
• A simple pencil;
• paper.

Description of work

1. Let's start with a sketch of the future toy.Let's draw it by hand on a piece of paper with a simple pencil. According to our idea, we should get a snow-covered house in snowdrifts of sweet sugar glaze. The drawing should not have clear and correct lines "under the ruler", it's okay if the house turns out a little disproportionate and with rounded edges, do not forget that we will make a gingerbread house, and it looks exactly like that.2.Next, we cut out the resulting sketch from paper along the contour, and, using it as a template, we transfer the outlines of the house onto brown felt, which we previously folded in two layers. After that, we cut out two absolutely identical parts from felt.3.Then we cut out all the individual parts from the house, which should be white - this is the roof, snowdrifts, fir tree and tree, as well as the window. We transfer the outlines of the parts to white felt and carefully cut out each one.4.Now we will decorate the front part of the toy, we will start with the snow-covered roof, we put it on the main front part of the house and sew it with a needle and thin white thread. We make very small, if possible even and identical stitches of the "needle forward" seam.5.After the roof, we sew the lower part with snowdrifts and trees, pay attention to sewing the part only along the inner edges, leaving the outer ones untouched. We will lay a seam on them when we sew the front and back parts of the toy together.6. Lastly, we sew the window onto the house.7. This is the finished front part of the gingerbread house we got.8.Next, take the back felt part of the house, connect both along the contour and sew them along the outer edge of the entire toy, also using the "needle forward" stitch for this. Make small and even stitches. Leave only the bottom edge unsewn.9.Through the remaining hole, we stuff the toy with synthetic filler and distribute it evenly inside, thereby giving the house the correct volumetric shape. If you do not have such filler at hand, it can be replaced with regular cotton wool or soft paper, for example, napkins or paper towels. After the toy is stuffed, we sew the remaining lower part of the house, according to the same principle as the sides.10. The gingerbread house made of felt is almost ready, all that remains is to add a few details.eleven.In order to hang our unusual toy on a Christmas tree branch, we need to make a loop for it, but sewing a regular loop from a string or thread would be very simple and boring, so I decided to make it from a satin ribbon. We take ribbons of two colors - red and green and form a small bow from each. Please note that it is desirable that the bow from the red ribbon be slightly larger than the green one, and it must also have long edges.12.Place the green bow on the red one and sew both at the same time in the center of the top of the house roof.
