The swan is one of the most beautiful birds on earth.There are many legends associated with it, including one of Andersen's most popular fairy tales, "The Ugly Duckling." And how many funny and touching videos have been shot about this bird. Those who are into beadwork can make it with their own hands. And not just one. Beaded swans can take a worthy place in a personal collection, or they can be given as a wedding anniversary gift as a symbol of love and fidelity. All that remains is to master the master class on how to weave them.

Materials and tools

In order to weave a figure, we need the following:

  • 100 grams of Czech beads of white color;
  • 30 grams of transparent beads from Taiwan (you can take a Czech);
  • 2 pieces of black beads for the eye (slightly larger in size);
  • 30 pieces of red beads for the beak;
  • Wire thickness 5-6 mm;
  • Nylon threads;
  • A needle for beadwork.

Here I would like to note that the swans of beadsCan be not only white, but also black. In the latter case, weaving will be done with a matte and glossy beads, and the eyes can be made blue or white. Otherwise, the work will be done exactly the same.

Master-class on weaving of a swan from beads

Beading of this swan is performed withUsing several techniques. Namely, the base of the figure is a three-dimensional tourniquet, to which feathers and wings are attached using parallel weaving techniques. Therefore, the master class is not suitable for beginner needlewomen. After all, there is not even a diagram attached to it, taking into account the fact that the foreman already knows the basics.
So, first of all, you need to weave a tourniquet fromwhite beads. The classic weaving pattern is used. To do this, string 5 beads on a thread and twist them into a ring. Next, you need to add 2 beads in each row to get a thickening for the head. In total, 9-10 rows are woven in this way. Only in the 5th row you need to add 2 black beads (these are the eyes) so that they are located on the sides of the future head.

Next, continue weaving the cord on 5 beads.To do this, first decrease to the desired size. Then weave as before. The total length of the cord should be 20 cm. To avoid having to unravel the excess, you can periodically apply it to a ruler. Or make a measuring scale on a piece of fabric from which the beads for the work are collected. As you move forward, remove the excess threads inside and set them on fire with a hot match. At the end, simply tie a knot, do not cut the ends yet. At this point, the cord blank is ready.

To make a beaded swan look like a real one,you also need to make a red beak. For this purpose, unravel 2-3 rows from the head side and tie a thread. Then string red beads on it and make 7-8 rows, gradually decreasing in a row. To give it shape, you need to stitch the beak well with a thread and squeeze it as much as possible. This is also done so that the frame wire does not pass through it.

To ensure that the figurine holds its shape well,insert the wire. Leaving 9 cm for the neck, fold the remaining end into a loop and secure. Then give the swan the shape shown in the photo. Raise the neck and bend the head down a little. Lay the loop flat. Next, you need to fill the void in it so that there is something to attach the feathers to.

This is done as follows.Between 2 inner beads, string a thread with them and secure. The execution resembles the technique of parallel weaving. At the same time, do not forget to add and subtract the number of beads in each row. Unfortunately, no pattern can tell you the exact number, since the beads can be different in size. You will need to try it on each time.

Now all that remains is to make the swan's plumagefrom transparent beads. You need to start from the base of the neck. In the first row of feathers, you need to attach an arc of 3 pieces to each bead. In the next row, make them out of four and so on, until plumage appears on a third of the body. Fill the remaining part through one bead, in each arc there will be 21 beads.

This is not the end of the beadwork of the swan.You still need to fill the empty sides. Make the arcs from the neck to the tip of the tail in the same way. They are already made of white beads. It will be very inconvenient and difficult to work here, but you still need to do it. This is the only way to get a truly light and beautiful swan. As soon as the sides are filled, the work is finished.

Scheme for weaving a swan from beads

Obviously, this is not the only master class,Telling how you can weave a swan out of beads. Of course, you can still make it in the technique of volumetric parallel weaving. Below is attached a detailed scheme for weaving a hare with chicks.

And a swan can also become a source of inspirationto create exquisite jewelry and accessories. They are also used for bead embroidery of pillows, paintings, napkins and clothes. There are many videos where needlewomen share such ideas.
