Table without legs: hardy tablecloth
How about making a full-fledged table from a knitted or textile tablecloth, but without a real table? The tablecloth will fulfill both roles: furniture and covering. And glue or resin will help with this!
A tablecloth well coated with glue or resinput it on a table smeared with something greasy and let it dry. The tablecloth will take the shape of the table and will be hard enough to stand on its own and also support the weight of several objects. Of course, you won't be able to set a full dinner for several people, but you can have a glass of wine and a piece of pie at such a ghostly table.
